On this in 1999, Anil Kumble picked up all ten wickets in the second innings to lead India to a series leveling win over Pakistan at the Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi. 'Jumbo', as he was affectionately called, became only the second man in the history of Test cricket, after Jim Laker, to achieve this unique feat. He finished with figures of 10/74, with all 10 wickets coming in an extended spell of 18.2 overs. The romantic story of Anil's memorable achievement also featured contributions from Sachin Tendulkar, Mohammad Azharuddin and Javagal Srinath. It was revealed in a subsequent interview that Tendulkar would hand over Kumble's cap and sweater to the on-field umpire at the start of every over. And Kumble would oblige with a wicket. Also, as Kumble neared the landmark, Mohammad Azharuddin brought on Javagal Srinath and instructed him to bowl well outside the off-stump so as to give Kumble, every chance of picking up the 10-fer. Wasim Akram, the Pakistan skipper, was Kumble's 10th wicket. Jumbo ended with match figures of 14/149.
