Are wives & girl-friends allowed on the trip ?

Must be barred, if not this would not happen.

What about others? How did other players jakoff without hurting elbows? These guys should “watch” and learn from others. ;)

News Corp suggesting that Adams and GIllespie are in line for the perma role of replacing Saker.

While NZC still has Jurgo :(

NZC may have missed a trick here. Big time.

Well done Andre should he get the job.

Look - Im the first to admit that Warner is a big loss for Australia in ODI cricket... but I cannot take Ricky seriously when he talks up Smith in ODI cricket as making Aus as good as Eng or Ind.

Steve Smith averages less than 42 at 86SR... In Smith's absence - Shaun Marsh has averaged over 60 at close to 100 SR...

Lets get real Ricky... The Aus team balance needs better selecting cos Smith is not Bradman at ODI cricket. At all... It's not like you lost Kohli...Head and Handscombe have done better of late...

http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine ... pe=batting

Carey's numbers are horrid...

Pat Cummins (poor man's Pattinson) wins the Allan Border medal (Australia's best cricketer over the past 12 months)
http://www.espncricinfo.com/story/_/id/ ... aron-finch

a fair result

for some reason Pucovski won the Bradman medal. In years gone by that would require many big innings at first class level. in 2019 it only requires one.

The most notable aspect of the night were some questionable fashion choices by the player attendees and their partners. Particularly Adam Zampa who appeared to go dressed as Australian (NZ born) media personality Richard Wilkins. Probably one person on this forum will get that reference.

cricket fans can now vote on a retro ODI kit for an upcoming series vs NZ

https://www.cricket.com.au/news/pick-th ... 2019-02-19

They say voting starts today, but I can't find anywhere I can actually vote :?

Image

1981-84 for me

actually this kit changed from 80-81 to 81-82... the earlier kit had a stripe on the sleeves. I like that one the best.

With Warner, Burns, Renshaw, Harris and even Khawaja around, Bancroft needs to seriously dominate domestic to get back into the test team, whereas Smudger, he just needs to be fit. Looks like Warner also only needs to be fit judging by the comments of many seniors.

I don't feel as though Bancroft averaging a tick over 30 ever really nailed down his test spot. Especially after averaging only 25 on the Ashes' roads. The irony is, against a better attack in more difficult conditions in SA, he was actually chipping in at 37, which was more than useful.

I get your Dukes ball point and all - but lol at some of these NSW career batting records.

Edwards and Sangha are kids - but Larkin - 26 games averaging 28...

lover's quarrel?

End of the day, India still needs to play someone and Australia will remain a huge cricket drawcard anywhere unless they go mid 1980's levels of useless.

But it is interesting India keeps expanding its own season. When aren't Indians playing cricket in India? Is it just all year round?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2018%E2%8 ... ket_season

Wow - its just all year round. Starts in "June" and goes through to IPL in May. Lol.

They do sell. BCCI want its return on investment. They sure got deep bench strength. Can afford it.

Indeed but I love the politics at play here. No one country may monoplise intl sport successfully, only domestic franchise sport.

India has a ton of clout, and fans and money. But those fans want to see India playing Australia. So there is always a hint of Mexican standoff - until Aus is no longer in demand - at which point they may be more discarded like NZ or WI - but then Aus may plead that the ICC group swings into action, and BCCI threaten ICC boycotts. It's not working for Pakistan, but once there's votes against than for, democracy takes over.

It's a never ending soap opera that is unique to cricket - it could also happen in rugby but it doesn't as rugby is becoming more and more franchise based like soccer. The star intl attractions are in constant supply with the South agreeing to tour the North every single year for a month in exchange for monies, and the South getting a constant supply of playing themselves keeping the fans there happy for 2 months - and the rest is franchise based more or less outside big Lions tours.

Aussie has to get used to kissing the ring for favours, but they should also learn to negotiate better.

Indeed.

Aus is 6th in test rugby and 4th+ in test cricket, and 5th in odi cricket. No France, Wales, Ireland, Argentina, Samoa, Tonga, Fiji nor Japan stuffing this program.

You'll be all year AFL like India is cricket soon. I mean - you can then be the best at a sport. That noone else plays professionally - like NZ, Eng, Aus, SA, WI play cricket part time and India go full time :P

Cricket is still the national sport. Its not dying any time soon. There's just no interest in rugby any more as NRL and soccer are taking over,
