In T20, Afghanistan has some chance. But we must realise that only two Afghanistan players did well in IPL. Other Afghan players including batsmen, were not seen in IPL. So practicewise both teams are more on less on level playing field. I still feel that Bangladesh should be a stronger team.

168 the target for Bangladesh. Shafiqullah and Shenwari batted well in the later overs for Afghanistan

Afghanistan won by 45 runs.
Runs on the board and our team will do really well in Indian conditions.
Also surprised to see the Stadium was almost full. Great support for Afghanistan in India.

Yips, this is the thing. I took one look at the AFG score at halftime and had them as favourites.
Shenwari should bowl more to lessen the bowling of Zadran et al.

Way too harsh on Nabi. Because of Shakib and Rashid with KW/Hales/Braithwaite, he was forced to bowl opening powerplay overs only when he played.

He would walk into many intl teams in the world.
The guy is a quality bowler. He has shown it all over the world, including in the BBL.
AFG is very light on seam bowling. AFG is very light on batting. But when Shazhad or Shafiqur give the spinners Nabi, Mudjeeb and Rashid give some runs on the board, with Shenwari in support, those spinners will suffocate the batsmen wherever possible.

Good to know that the stadium was full. Dehradun is a new stadium and so people there were obviously enthusiastic about the match.

Yep, Nabi is a very good cricketer.
Unfortunatly for us, no sight of a proper fast bowler. Dawlat Zadran is not bad, but he is injured. I hope we soon produce a few proper fast bowlers. We will struggle big time in the game against India as the 3 pacers selected cannot bowl faster then 135

There are some batting prospects, especially for T20. There is two guys Darwish Rasooli and Hazratullah Zazai who can both smash it a long way.

There is always support for Afghanistan in India. One is the historical links, Afghanistan was once a Hindu and Buddhist country. Also the Pathans in Afghanistan migrated to India over the centuries. There was the Silk Route between India and Afghanistan for trade.
And both the countries detest Pakistan.

I don't think it is an upset at all.
Afghanistan is way better in T20 format than Bangladesh. If Afghanistan beat Bangladeshi in ODI then it will be a minor upset but if they beat in Test that will be a major upset.

It's so and so. Nothing special.
Most of them are T20 players. So we will struggle in ODI and tests.
Keep an eye on Rehmat Shah and Hashmatullah in the test team. I think they have the temperament to do well in the long format.

Afghanistan vs Bangladesh: T20I Series; June 3-7, 2018 in India
Indians for many centuries have admiration & love for afghans. Most think pakistani pathans as fake ones and afghans as original true pathans. All afghan based bollywood movies do well in india. Entire india unanimously agree and thankful for giving jalebi to the world. It’s fact that India spent millions in money & man power in rebuilding afghanistan.

Single off the last ball.
So that was 21 off that over.
9 required now in the last over.
Rashid.
But I think the advantage now firmly with Bangladesh.
What an over that was from Karim Janat!
Mix of gifts and lack of experience.

Karim Janat the brother of the Captain almost ruined the 3-0 win for us by going for 21. 5 fours back to back in a low scoring game...
Luckily we had Rashid and Shafiqullah at the boundary.
Great series for Afghanistan.

Rashid Khan to Ariful Haque, 2 runs, OUT, Outstanding effort at the edge of the long-on boundary from Shafiqullah. He was won it for Afghanistan. They whitewash Bangladesh 3-0!. Another googly, but the length is shorter and outside off, hoicked away hard and flat to long-on. Will it go over the boundary? Nope. Shafiqullah leaps to his left, his foot is the air as he swats the ball into play and the ball somehow finds its way to wicketkeeper Shahzad, who breaks the bails, to run out Mahmudullah. It they had taken the third run, it would have been a tie. Shahzad does the nagin dance now. Celebrations in full swing in the Afghanistan camp. Madcap finish in Dehradun
