Music videos I like from the 80s
Music videos are probably not as big as they used to be in the 80s or 90s - an era where one good video could rocket someone to stardom even if their song was pretty crap.
However there are still many songs that have awesome videos and still sound really good. I am going to list a few that I remember off the top of my head from the 80s. I had a pleasant time recalling these songs stuck in my memory. I was a tiny tot back then mostly listening to songs my parents listened to or watched on tv... but some I can remember very well.
Music videos I like from the 80s
Probably one of the first music videos I watched when I was a kid. I really loved this one at the time because of the cartoon like characters in the song. Later I started appreciating the song itself. The guitar riff at the beginning of the song is one of the best I've ever head in a song. Superb video for a great song.
A super song from the king of pop himself. I never really liked his original video as a kid. I guess i found it creepy. This video where prisoners in a prison where made to dance to the song is awesome though.
Listening to this song immediately takes me down memory lane. I can remember watching this video on a JVC tv in Delhi. Not really sure what I liked about the video as a kid (although I've always loved the song). I guess watching ppl move like machines was pretty fun I suppose.
This movie was special for me. I was amazed the first time I watched the Never Ending story. I think I was about 6/7 when I watched it. However it made such an impression on me that I still remember it quite vividly. I don't particularly remember the story... but it was thrilling to watch at the time. I loved this song as well. I heard this again today after a long time. I find that I still like it a lot
Brilliant song from the Boss. I remember my mom and dad listening to this song a lot. I think I had a crush on Courtney Cox as a kid due to this video. Regardless this song is fantastic to listen to even now.
Another movie I remember quite well as a kid. I watched it recently and pleasantly liked it a lot even now. I must say Kathleen Turner is a beautiful lady! Mike Douglas is one lucky guy! He has acted with (not to mention married to) some of the most beautiful ladies in the world. Nice, peppy tune this. I love the panoramic views in the video. Btw this song was the title track for the movie is Romancing the Stone.
One of two songs from Wham! my mom used to love to listen to. I only watched this video much later... but I remember this song very vividly. The other of course is Wake me up before you go-go - but that song irritates me a little.
The first time I watched this song I wondered what was wrong with the guy in the video. I remember asking my dad if the guy was being electrocuted. Not sure what my dad did... but I'm pretty sure he laughed at least a little when he heard that. Another peppy song that is guaranteed to perk you up if you feel down. Perhaps not something I'd listen to all the time... but something I wouldn't mind being on in the background if doing some work.
Another classic from my parent's playlist. This song used to be on a lot at home. Lovely song which I believe raised a lot of money to do good back in the day. I hear they're re-making this song for the earthquake victims in Haiti.
A beautiful song from one of my favorite movies. I remember loving this song as a kid... but back then there was no internet to lookup song names instantly. I had to wait until 1998 to actually find out the name of the song and of course I fell in love with this all over again.

Love that song. Even the title from the Prince of Thieves is awesome. A bit mushy, but a lovely song.
