Rain interrupts after 9.2 overs with NZ 67-1.

NZ were looking good. Hopefully the rain does not ruin their flow.

Pat Cummins as a poor mans James Pattinson argument gets further weight.

Ronchi may have targetted Zampa more. He likes disatching spin. Pace has been his weakness in recent years.

NZ 216/3 off 33.5 overs. Only KW of the Big 3 remains.

Will NZ fly well past 300 or be bundled out for 275 or less. As Ravi Shastri would say, all results possible here.

Neesham 2(6) and looks silly at the crease with no impetus nor intent.

Anderson out 8(5) but at least he tried, his poor batting form continues.

Santner due to bat next and he is a slow starter typically.

This may be Southee's day as a batting hero.

NZ still has the worst 5 to 7 if not 8 in odi world cricket incl Bangladesh at present.

Neesham 6(10) out. Ugh. Nowhere near specialist batsman quality and a useless bowler.

Hesson has to address this before the next world cup or NZC will slide back to medocrity.

NZ collapse to 291 all out with an over to spare.

The Broom Neesham Anderson crap show sure did crap well.

Very disapointed despite predicting this. I hope Anderson redeems himself with the ball. I hope Neesham is not asked to bowl.

Of course they're prepared differently, especially in England from 2015 on. Were you seriously not aware of this? You're a mod on a cricket forum!

DL 235/3 off 33.

KW learns a harsh lesson about batting 2nd when winning toss with inclement weather.

NZ will want some early wickets here to get back into match as I don't think 235 is defendable with Warner and Finch at the crease.

Aussie 9/0 after 1.2 overs - Aus 1.33 favourites from here if not better.

Finch is swinging hard at a lot of balls and completely missing them.

Warner is far more composed (as he jumps off the ground to cut a 6).

Smith swings and misses a cut at his first ball. Smashes the 2nd through the covers. He wants to get right on top. 3rd ball is a swing and a miss pull.

This is odd from Aus - lots of swings and misses.

Edit - I suspect he's worried about rain perhaps.

Finch gone.

35/2.

Terrible onside prod shot ballooned to mid wicket or mid on. Like a leading edge but flush off the face of the bat.

May get dropped for Lynn after this.

Henriques in now.

53-3 Henriques out c&b an inside edge cannoning off his pads to Milne after edging a 4 past Taylor at 1st slip.

Rain is back.

Need 11 more overs for a game. These 3 wickets may help nz is DL total reset.

Confirmed: if 20 over game - Aus need 174.

NZ bowlers have got them right back on top but Aus still have Smith & Maxwell as well as Head.

Australia look set to escape with shared points as rain persists.

NZ can thank Adam Milne for his efforts in turning a likely DL loss for NZ into an unfortunate missed opportunity due to more rain where Straya are the lucky benefactors.

Split points will make for an interesting table however with England only needing 1 win vs NZ or Aus to now qualify. Should England win both those games, it gets v interesting.

Does not make any difference what so ever.
A cricket pitch has a soul. No matter what you do it behaves same way irrespective of test match is played on it or a one day. Each pitch around the world have their own unique characteristics. They remain the same for both test and ODI cricket. You cannot make. Flat pitch as bouncy & vice versa. Duh !

Farewell and all the best.

Edit - it won't let add GS to my foe list. Is there another way to disable viewing his posts on my browser while I am logged in to cricform?

Law 31.6 - benefit of the doubt for an dismissal appeal goes to the batsman
A third umpire call for a run out or stumping is a referral, not a review.

A cricket pitch has a soul. No matter what you do it behaves same way irrespective of test match is played on it or a one day. Each pitch around the world have their own unique characteristics. They remain the same for both test and ODI cricket. You cannot make. Flat pitch as bouncy & vice versa. Duh !

Going South, I am adding you to my ignore list, so if I don't reply to your future posts, you now know why. I wish you all the best with your future learning and understanding of cricket and cricket pitches, such as grass length, if any, rolling and moisture (for grass, if any, and soil both) as well as any prior use.

Farewell and all the best

If we muted everyone we disagreed with this would be a bit of a boring place. Just misty wandering around talking to himself :)

I have no intention of muting everyone that I disagree with, or I wouldn't even have Misty's posts to read! ;)

If a moderator is able to GS to my foe list for me, I would apreciate it.

Sorry I can't return the favor of ignoring you as I need to read what u write and moderate. But if you pick a third member to pick fight I might need to put my admin cap and ban you. Ofcourse we would give you warning ahead of time before banning.
