Didn’t someone get run out for 99 on debut?

Or maybe just run out on 99 at any point

Really?
I remember Greg for his highest runs scorer in One day series, were in 14 Games he hits 686 runs, probably Benson and Hedges.SRT came close with 673 in 11 matches in 2003 World cup

So Azheruddin hit 100, great player but his name listed as match fixer.(he is only player with 3 in his first 3 tests)

Colin Milburn (139)
Rodney Redmond (107)*
Andy Ganteaume (112)+
M.Goodwin (148*) vs Eng.

I think * only one test because 4 mos later NZ team announce for WI, Turner/Jarvis selected but Redmond was left out despite he hits 107 and 59 on début vs pakistan

+ only one test because WI think if Andy not waste time too much on his début century,Wi might win test on that day so Andy Ganteaume not selected ever again.

Arvinda De Silva hits 206 in his last test but srilanka never call him back.
Sangakara 203
ABD villers 148
Barry Richards 126
V.Merchant 154* vs EnG
V.Manjrelar 102*
Leyland 187
G.Legge 196 (for eNG)
Nasser Hussein
LYth
Weeks 137 (only innings in his last tests)

Jack Russell for England in his last test, hits 140 open innings and 111 second innings bats at number 6 in 1923.

Strauss scored 112 and 83 Run out :not sure if it is his last test or Début?

Duff 146
R.S Row 137 (enG)
Redpath
M.Love
Jaques
H.Wood
A.Hill

I think so many......

I think very few scored DBL on début/ plus century in each innings on début plus few scored century in their first two tests

Rowe hits 214 and 100*on debut
Sinclair batted 10 hours vs WI in 1999 for debut Dbl.
Brendon Kurrupu batted 777 minutes on debut 201 not out
R.E Foster highest run scorer on Debut : 287 ( known as Tip Foster)
Jack Ruddolf 222* on debut his innings so impressive he put on partnership of 429 with (Dippenar))on his debut test, very good concentration by Ruddolf.

I wonder which test produces slowest run rate ?
Probably Aus vs pak 90 overs total 95 runs for 12 wickets Karachi

Highest score in 90 overs?
Eng' 503 vs SOA in a day stood for 78 years till SL smashed 509 in 90 overs vs BD at Colombo in 2002
Aus hit 458 for 3 in 90 over when Bradman hits 309 in a day vs England

Yes, I think this Test is probably the one with the slowest run rate overall.
http://www.espncricinfo.com/series/1741 ... est-match/

England vs India 1964 also had some crawls. And of course the 1980s had some notorious crawls too.

Recently South Africa produced a remarkable crawl, given the times.

I think Indians beat us by over 335 runs but we batted 143 over for 143 runs , was one of worst by our team

Karunaratne who was 93 run out at Abu Dhabi just bowled for 196 at Dubai
I sort out EVERYTHING one wants to know about Nervous 190's

Raja, (Indian Fan)

Charlie Turner a Medium Pacer took 50 wickets in his first 6 test since début including

8 FIVE FOR IN CONSECUTIVE IN 10 INNINGS

so NO ONE CAN BREAK his record in Million years but what bother me most, during his début, he took 6wickets by an innings, with England 45 all out -- England won that test by 13 runs !!!

===

8th October 1997
Debut tons and record stand

In the first Test between Pakistan and South Africa in Rawalpindi that ended in a a draw, October 8th - the third day's play - turned out to be a memorable one for the hosts. Ali Naqvi scored a ton on debut on Day 1 while on Day 3, Azhar Mahmood joined him by scoring the second hundred of the innings. Thus, they became the first pair of debutants to score hundreds in the same innings. That was not the only record - Mahmood had added 151 runs in partnership with Mushtaq Ahmed, equalling the Test record which was set by Brian Hastings and Richard Collinge of New Zealand. Mahmood and Mushtaq held the record for nearly 16 years before Phil Hughes and Ashton Agar broke it, only to see Joe Root and James Anderson soon surpass the record

3rd October 1862
Birth of a tragic hero - Johnny Briggs

This little-known left-arm spinner from England still has the best strike-rate in Tests for any spinner who took more than 100 wickets. He played only 33 Tests but picked up 9 five-fers and 4 ten-wicket hauls. His best match figures are a mind-boggling 15/28 where 14 of his wickets were clean bowled!

However, in 1899 he suffered a blow on his chest and collapsed during a match. He did not play the rest of the season and also became one of the first few people to be examined with an X-ray. It was found that a rib had damaged his heart. Briggs later suffered an epileptic seizure and spent his last days in a mental asylum often dreaming of cricket.
