This is a 2013 interview with Ian Davis, former Australia opener.
Was just going through some old scorecards (of the 1977 Ashes series - yes, I like to inflict pain on myself :-)).

Nice to read this interview. Brought back memories. I remember Ian Davis very well.

Botham's debut Test, comeback Test for Boycs.
The Almanack Report is a fun read. I remember Boycs running out Randall. :-)

That was a terrible series for an Aussie supporter.

Like Ian Davis says, it was on the eve of the whole Packer drama, and tension was high in the Aussie camp.
Their performance on the field was terrible.

That was CA Davis - the prolific Windies batsman, who tortured Indian bowlers during that famous March-April 1971 series.

This is Ian Davis, who used to open the batting for Australia in the mid/late-70s.
Remember McCosker, Alan Turner, Ian Davis?

My memory starts with redpath and whatshisface..... um..... Stackpole? No. Argh! The WSC replacement who ended up with a decent run in the team. Who do I mean?!

Just checked. It was redpath and stackpole I was thinking of. But now this other name is going to annoy me.

He might have opened in the 81 ashes for Australia. Anyone?
