Binny will swing it and run through the England batting line-up.

Is that "just right stupid" or is that REALLy stupid? :-)

I think that's just right stupid. Without figures it leaves it up to interpretation which is probably a good thing.

Simon Kerrigan will be picked, play, and have a worse first eight overs than last time.

ESPN3 and the WatchESPN app. Quality is excellent, but lots of commercial breaks (every over, wickets, etc.)

WillowTV seems to have lost a lot of their streaming rights to ESPN.

Both captains said they would bowl, but would the weather conditions play a part? Warm for the next two days and rain (cloudcast swing conditions?) on Saturday? I guess here and now it's green. Looks OK for batting on.

On this pitch? I don't think so.

I tell you what, we've already had more wicket-taking balls this morning than we had in five days in Nottingham. The only way this one is lasting five days is with a long innings from the weather gods.

Very surprised to see England bowling, irrespective of the result or if India get bowled out below 200, I think its a defensive move. Captain is not in form, doesn't want to chance it, so let the bowling slog it out. Same reason probably for having stokes and Ali to cover for him instead of picking Kerrigan

Am surprised BCCI have survived with only 1 wicket down so far.

England have not used the conditions well enough. These were terrific bowling conditions for their bowlers.

Kohli dropped off the last ball before lunch by Prior.
Moeen Ali is a pretty decent bowler, better than I'd thought before I saw him in action for the first time in Trent Bridge.

Defensive or just worried? However they do it, England desperately want to avoid losing. If Cook can keep India to less than 250 for the day and make sure that he doesn't need to bat until well into tomorrow, he can probably save the match. That's simply what you get, I suspect, from a worried man leading a worried eleven.

India in lot of trouble 90/3 despite England being so wayward. If they get disciplined like TrentBridge India will have nowhere to go.

It wouldn't hurt since you can always just sign up again if there's something you need to watch.

Still seems they have the rights to South African, Sri Lankan, and Australian home series. And some other less exciting cricket. For me that might be enough for me to keep it for now.

Remarkably, the tv and text commentaries both seem convinced that England are virtually on the point of losing this match. After one and a half sessions. Because they are bowling as short and wide as India will probably do when they get the chance. Lawdy, if I have learnt nothing else about cricket, I have at least learned that you never make a prediction about a result until both sides have batted and very rarely before lunch on day 3.

What Katto said. Also, GS always either predicts a boring 5 day draw or the test finishing before you even see the 5th day.

You know what I think? I'll tell you what I think. I think I need more monitors. I've got one window open for each of:
    cricket tv;
    cricket text commentary;
    Tour de France;
    the golf leaderboard;
    golf text commentary,
    oh, and one for work
:dontknow:
I'm gonna get bugger all done for the rest of the week.
