Shameful, batting into the fifth session and still primed to lose

FC average of 29, 1 century, 11 50s. He is going to blow these English bowling attack away. he knows he has too, otherwise he will have to bowl on this flat track and get blown away himself.

Yeah but come on, it's the Ranji trophy. Nobody respects batting records there. People have been making fun of Jadeja's triple centuries for years. I like Bhuvneshwar, and I know he can bat a bit, but you have to admit number 9 protecting number 11 is funny in any form of cricket.

First time ever that England has had 9 centurions in their Test side.
Only Plunkett and Anderson haven't got Test centuries yet.

Time to get them to open the innings. Won't get a better chance. :-)

Five of that side have exactly one Test century. I imagine most of them will be adding to that tally at Ishant's expense.

Ishant is a "hit the deck bowler" apparently. This must mean that he manages to get it to bounce before it reaches the other end of the pitch.

I was going to predict the after lunch debacle.Happens a lot of times. lunch or tea.
Dhoni should have started to hit out instead of thinking about a century,he really is a numbskull as is Jadeja.

Was Rohit left out due to Injury or what ?

Another 50 partnership from the tail.

Take a look, since January 2010 in England, 14 50+ partnerships for the 8th, 9th, and 10th wicket.

http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine ... ew=innings

And 10 more outside of England.

When Rahit gets married he will not be going to a foreign location for honeymoon .... Why?

Because he cant perform outside India.

be interesting to see how many change their tune if Ishant comes out and blasts a few English wickets

346 all out would've been par

this partnership is destroying England

Thanks for making us feel better, but 500 is probably par. India gets ao here for 425, England takes a 100 run lead , India out for 280-320 in second, England ramp home with 7 wicket to spare.

The very thought that they'd have to bowl on this wicket if a wicket falls is motivation enough for these guys to stretch the innings as much as possible.

Ganguli should file a law-suit against Dhoni, alleging that he bribed the curator at Nottingham, to prepare a Dhoni-friendly pitch.

I didn't know that Ballance was Zimbabwe-born.
His father's cousin is married to Dave Houghton.
He played for Zimbabwe in the Under-19 World Cup in 2006.

And Sam Robson is Australia-born and played for Australia as an under-19 player.
He moved to London only in 2008.
He could have played for either England or Australia.

He only chose England because he had no chance of playing Test cricket this young if he chose Australia.

So I went to bed at like 365 for 9. Shami had like 20 runs in his whole test career before this... Michael Holding was making fun of him in the first few balls.

And then Cook fails with the bat again… England would have probably taken 450 at the start of the day, but the way they got there makes Cook look even sillier than normal.

Y'know, it occurs to me that with the position England are in right now, what they really need is a super boring accumulator at number 3 that would be perfectly happy grinding India into the dust in two days with a double century comprised entirely of flicked singles into the leg side. Weakness to the short ball is not an issue given the pitch and the bowling. Seen any of those lying around recently?

Cook's had it. Even my avatar can't save him. 10 of the times England have allowed these late partnerships since Cook has been captain. That's not even 2 years worth of captaincy. When the 10 and 11 come in right after each other, get some fielders and put them around the damn bat. It doesn't matter how flat the pitch is playing.

Just checked those partnership stats, only Bhuvi & Shami were actually tail enders at nos 9 & 11,all of the other big partnerships had a genuine batsmen, which makes this all the more pleasing.

Where have you been raja? You do you think I was referring to as The African for the last two months?

Just checked those partnership stats, only Bhuvi & Shami were actually tail enders at nos 9 & 11,all of the other big partnerships had a genuine batsmen, which makes this all the more pleasing.

That's the kindest thing anybody on this forum has ever said about Phil Hughes.

The last wicket partnership may be the turning point.

Theres a big difference between 346 and 457.

If the pitch is up and down in the fourth innings, Ishant may have a part to play with his height.

He made use of the Windies variable bounce wickets similarly.
