Bat till end, win toss at lords and bat again. Simple plan.

oh, they would sure shake hands and declare the game over with 10 overs left all by themselves. Not the first time. :puke:

Binny doesn't ground his bat when he runs between wickets.
Dravid needs to have a word with him.

Oh, I don't think it'll be necessary. :-)

By the way congrats to India for passing 300 again. Despite the result and a few setbacks on the way, this is a great start to an away series, lot of positives.

England bowled 150+ overs in the first innings, 100 here now.
Bulk of these by Anderson/Broad/Plunkett.

Quite significant in the context of the packed series that this is.

Binny gone for 78. Anyway, he's done his job.

It's good to see Karnataka continuing to contribute to BCCI, even after Kumble's retirement.
Guys like Mithun, Vinay Kumar and now Binny.

Atherton says "Benedict now tells us Bhuvanesh Kumar is only the 2nd player in test history to get 2 fifties in a match, batting at no.9".

Sky also flashes that message on screen.

Strangely, it doesn't tell us who the first one is.

Was it Siddle in a recent Test in India?

This is the first time a No.8 has hit a 50 for India / BCCI outside the subcontinent on Test debut since Dattu Phadkar at the SCG in 1947!

It was this type of dead match situation when Gavaskar dismissed Zaheer Abbas for 96 at Faisalabad in 1978-79. That was the second innings. He had got 176 in the first innings. :-)

Anderson gets the MoM.

Other candidates were Root, Broad, Murali Vijay and Bhuvi Kumar.

Well, you can't say Jimmy didn't do enough to earn it in this match, I suppose. Just a shame that, after a lot of really good performances, the match peters out into nothing.

Meanwhile, Kerrigan's in the squad for Lord's; that should send a few pundits into a tailspin.

Dhoni seemed to hint at the post-match talk with Athers that Binny might get another go at least in this series.

Bring back Jordan....

Will be interesting to see if they go for the rotation policy after the slating Mickey Arthur got for resting Siddle.

Kerrigan's in the squad for Lord's? I'm sure there was an "inexplicable repeat selections" thread. Apparently the way to ensure you get a second Test for England is to get hit out of the park by Shane Watson, go back to the drawing board, rebuild your action and confidence, and push your way back in to the selectors' confidence by averaging a mighty 35 in county cricket.

I echo Ankur's statement. Pretty happy with the way the game ended. Pretty interesting game on the whole. Both teams' front line batsmen did their best to force a result - but the bowlers saved the day.

I thought Bhuvi deserved the MOM more, he saved India's arse twice, and lets not forget the 5 wkts he took on a so called batting surface and only got to bowl in one innings, Broad and Anderson only managed 4 wkts each in total, bowling in both India's innings and both of them are regarded as far better bowlers that Bhuvi.OK I know Jimmy didn't get the MOM for his bowling but his batting which was a very good effort.

BTW, that was a very good second innings dig from Binny under great pressure.
