Re: Cook
It handily ever works out given the captaincy to your best player and pre captaincy Cook was scoring runs left right and centre, you can almost expect a drop in form with the c next to your name.

The Indian bowlers are a worry.
Yes. Some guys play 10-12 tests in England and never score a century. He's got two in two, while captaining and taking wickets too. His average will be over 50 soon. Took him a while to start putting big scores together, but it seems being the captain suits him thus far. Doesn't hurt to have class players like Sangakkara and Jayawardene there to help.

Don't forget England had a 100+ run first innings lead, that makes this win even more impressive.

so 3 players to replace 1

The match was very boring till that last ball. You didn't miss much Katto. It was fun seeing crybabies Sanga and Mahela biting their nails ... was a little upset that they won the game in the end
Moeen Ali deserved better.

Moeen Ali deserved better.

Do you guys think Robson has done enough for the summer?
He is the third opener England have tried in a year, after Compton and Carberry.
I quite like this bunch of England players.
The oldies, Cook, Bell, Anderson - and even Broad - are looking more jaded now than this new lot.

I'd be interested to hear when you last saw a better innings from a No 11. That ball that got him was an absolute peach and most No 3s or 4s would have struggled with it (and would probably have played it the same way with the same result).

Sometimes I wonder whether life is easier for other people ... or whether they're just better at faking it.

Have a look at http://www.channel5.com/shows/cricket-on-5/clips/second-test-day-5-headingley-play-of-the-day. That might help.

With only two balls remaining Jimmy should have took it on the chin - for the team.
These players dont seem to show much spirit - if I was the ECB CEO I would be questioning his attitude.

Ali should be captain then (really super innings), and no I'm not changing my Avatar, I like it now.

Oh good. A troll. The way that penultimate ball bounced Jimmy very nearly took it literally on the chin and you're unlikely to see an innings anywhere anytime soon with more spirit than Ali's. But then, you'd have known that if you'd been watching the cricket instead of the football.

What is going on here? Ted actually managed to wind someone up? I think GS' Steyn avatar is working for him.
