My sacrifice of picking Powell in my IIHAG test team has worked. He's out of the team.

221 isn't good after an opener scores in the 80s. Crappy Gayle.

After Bangladesh made mockery of ODIs, can West Indies do the same to Test cricket?

16/2

119/3. Going steady. West Indies is not Bangladesh. Don't insult them.

Jerome Taylor with more wickets for WI, been a good comeback to the side for him.

165/3 is impressive. Brathwaite has arrived.

I said after last match that I thought WI would bounce back in this test. So far so good, but a lot of time left. Good to see some of the newer guys standup. Shiv will now show us to give the strike to the tail unless Ramdin can step it up too.

Excellent this is a three test series. So we'll have a chance to get a proper end.

No Mr. T20. He means after West Indies win this test there will actually be a decider unlike many recent WI and NZ series against various other teams and in other places where they only have 2 tests.

What makes you think all test matches have a result for each so that a decider makes sense? Look around. Only 1 in 3 has result nowadays

At least there will be an opportunity for the teams unlike the stupid 2 match series.

If 1 in 3 end in draw, 2 match series would be even better as one of them definitely a draw.

2 nightwatchmen used in the same innings for different batting positions, pretty rare.

Bit gutted I missed Bravo's hundred. I missed enough of Lara's batting, I may as well see his imitator.

Looking forward to the MCC v WOTW match though.

Number of Test caps West Indies have handed since 2000 - Jermaine Blackwood is the latest. Only England have had more debutants in this period (61) - CI

Didn't expect Englad to have so many debutants as they been pretty settled since 2000, I think half of those debuts would have come in 2 white washes against Aus and one against Pak.

WI should be banned for holding test matches in the wrong time zone for me to watch them.

Have only been following the scores of this match, but is there a video of this dismissal?
-----------------------

65.6 91.9 kph, oh boy. Is this the catch that won the match? West Indies well and truly on the home stretch now. An unbelievable return catch from Benn. Neesham is down the track to drive this well to Benn's right, but lithely - for a man Benn's height - Benn goes to his right, and uses his long right arm to pluck this. And gets up coolly as if he has taken a regulation catch. Absolutely superb from Benn 121/4

It was a great catch. I think the ball by ball made it seem a little better.

Wattling and Craig made that tough. Then rain. Then Gayle was confused about the format.

1-1 to Barbados.

Phil, don't bother with GS. He can't admit his love of test cricket.

I think Gayle has his formats confused. Over the last year he's been batting in T20s like he's in a test match and here he was batting in a test match but like he was in a T20. His 50 came up in 28 balls. The 50 run partnership included Brathwaite on 3. Hah.

In the 70s, there was this practice of playing a 6th day in the last Test of a series if it was a series decider (i.e series was levelled at that point).
The 5th Test between India and the West Indies at the Wankhede in 1974-75 (the first Test ever played at the Wankhede) was one such Test.
The series was tied 2-2 at that point.

Maybe they could re-introduce this concept. It would be a pity if this 3rd Test is drawn.

I've heard he is actually a BCCI stooge paid to parrot appropriate phrases from the BCCIs dogma.

i.e Pro ipl, anti test matches etc.

Who are we to complain though as the money is what keeps these boards running.

Given the batting consistency shown by both teams recently I don't think this will be a draw, barring a road or at least one freakish innings on each side.
