I see Anderson is looking pedestrian when the ball isn't swinging. Again. I hope Wasim never calls me the best at anything, it's obviously a death sentence from then on.

Normally Jarrod Kimber spouts crap that has no relation to coherent English, but today's article was pretty good: http://www.espncricinfo.com/magazine/content/story/752527.html

I didn't mean on the day either

as soon as England get 300 lead they should declare if they want to win the match, if not, its going to end up as draw.

Eng lead by 180 with 55 overs remaining in the day they can score around 180 more ang give sl 350 to chase on the last day. Eng might win this quite easily

And he's moving towards 50. Time will tell if he's worth it.

It's all up to this "new," "fresh," and "exciting" England setup of Cook and coach to give it to the fans or not.

Lead 294 and supposedly 21 overs left today.

390 lead at stumps and still batting?

Doesn't sound like a New England to me. They didn't need a Clarke declaration, but they could have had something that would have allowed them 6-8 overs at the SL batsmen. The African would have had many more chances at a Lords ton if he is as good as they think he is.

No one is going to win it anyway, might as well give Ballance his hundred. To his credit, first 50 from 130 balls, reached century 50 balls later or so I think.

Sl have only 3 times saved a test match when they have had to play 90 overs, twice at home once in NZ

Oh certainly, but I think this match is a safe draw and if that's the case I want to see one of my favourites score another hundred. That's why I enjoy watching Tests for which I am neutral so much, because I can focus on individual performances from players I really like, and enjoy them. The SA v AUS series are ones that I really enjoy watching, particularly when Ponting was playing.

I understand it's a safe draw now. But last night England had the opportunity to try to make a game of it and they didn't. Oh well.

Sanga is on his way to another. Silva might like one himself.

Cricinfo reports that only one overseas batsmen has scored a century in both innings at Lords: George Headley (1939.)

Your lack of faith in Englands pace attack is damning.

Plus - Root and Ali bowling in tandem...

Whoa nelly.

I predict it will be all over by 5pm local. In time for the (association) football.
