1st Test: England v Sri Lanka at Lord's, Jun 12-16, 2014

Postby SuperGLS » Thu Jun 12, 2014 12:29 am

Stupid prediction time: this test will be known as the Root test. Two centuries and a couple vital wickets.

Everyone should make a stupid prediction. Closest prediction, judged by me, wins CF$.

6AM start for me, and since West Indies couldn't make it until day 5, I think I'll wake up early and enjoy some good old fashioned test cricket.

Those are some stupid predictions.

I think at some point whilst batting Cook will headbut Mathews all for the spirit of the game.

England wont win.

(The last prediction was genuine.)

Moeen Ali will have a worse debut with the ball than Simon Kerrigan.

Cook should have left that ball. Going across and not worth a shot. Where's your form Cookie?!?!?!?

Am I the only one that wants Ballance to succeed?

England said they were going to be "fresh," and "more positive" and playing with "more energy" and it seems to be the case so far. Run rate much higher than that other test.

Prior has always been a quality performer. Easily the best WK batsman in the Test.

Cook is a rare case, without looking into any stats his good form doesn't last too long and his bad form doesn't last too long either. I don't think I have seen a batsman like him whose in great form one series and poor in the next and it all changes in the series after that.

Lagging depends on phone type and provider. I use iphone5 on Verizon. No lagging for me too. My friend who has android s4 on t mobile buffers a lot.

Yup, no lagging for me on an iPhone 5 with AT&T even with only three bars of signal. At home on the iPad over wifi it's perfect of course. WillowTV is the same. No third world bs for us.

Back to the game. We need England bowled out in the first session without adding too many.

When you're dominating, it doesn't matter to me :D

I'm all for victories over deservingly tough opponents, but I always enjoy seeing England obliterate minnows.

Besides, Sri Lanka are a decent middle-of-the-pack team.

Woke up early to kind of half sleep half watch, but it was mostly sleep.

Need two wickets for 20 runs or less to stay in this game.

This game is gone for Lanka. Actually this looks very familiar if you have been following Test cricket over the last year.

Home team loses top order cheaply, finds a hero to rally the tailenders and take team to very good total. After losing their great chance visitor lose all hope and lose by a big margin.

Same story repeated over India vs Australia 2013, England vs Australia 2013,India vs West Indies 2013, Australia vs England 2013/4, NZ vs India 2014 and now here.

Now Playing:
If I hold a gun to your head for Tests next year ...
If I hold a gun to your head for entire next year
