Match 48: Punjab v Mumbai

Postby dinamix » Wed May 21, 2014 5:50 am

Punjab Cricket Association Stadium, Mohali

Kings XI Punjab, the first team to seal a place in the Playoffs, take on defending champions Mumbai Indians in Match 48 of Pepsi IPL 2014. Kings XI Punjab will now want to win for two reasons: They say winning is a habit, and KXIP will want to develop that habit. And secondly, the team now needs to finish among the top two, so they will get a second dash at qualifying for the title clash – if the need arises. MI’s win over the Rajasthan Royals on Monday means they are barely alive in the race for the Playoffs. With two Playoff spots still open and five teams competing for them, MI cannot afford another below-par day on the field.

Yes he is. And exciting together with Sehwag. But the run out was not Sehwag's fault, just misfortune as the ball stopped at Vohra's leg enabling the run out opportunity.

Hey. Looks like Marsh and Vohra are having a personal scoring battle, almost as if the Mumbai bowlers are an irrelevance. Maybe they could just use one of those bowling machines! Uh-oh, Shaun Marsh is dismissed now, caught by Pollard.

If they can make 50 from 5 overs they make 150? Enough for win over pathetic Mumbai batting?

Three overs left, if they can average two runs per ball from here they might make 160, at least Bailey is still there. But the way things have been going, Sandeep might get a bat!

Lendl effing Simmons with this years first ton. Did that really happen?

Good for him. I'll keep my mouth shut about him. Unless he gets back into the WI side.

I still can't believe Lendl Simmons has the first ton of this thing. At a really good strike rate!
