ENGLAND WORLD CUP WINNERS CONGRATULATIONS THREAD

Postby TedWard » Wed May 22, 2019 7:15 pm

Thought I would come here and post my congratulations, show that I'm not bitter.

Surprised that there wasnt a thread already tbh.

So, anyway, well done, they did it in style too - scoring 500 runs in a world cup semi-final? Fair play.

Best coach, best batting line up, all of them can bat in any role - total cricket as it were. Its great, best middle order bowlers, best death bowlers, best spinners? best kits? the most money and home ground advantage, it was inevitable really. The entire last four years have been leading to this point.

Such was their dominance you could have combined all the squads from the other teams and still not made a side capable of competing with England.

Amazing.

And if I'm not here for the Ashes - congrats on that too.

Seeing this only now.

Wonderful to see you here, Ted.

Totally agree that this is England's World Cup - no way can they lose this?

Is there a single chink in their armour?

Not just this, the Ashes too are just a formality - might as well hand over the trophy to England along with the World Cup.

I'll gladly gift England the World Cup if Australia can SOMEHOW retain the Ashes.
I know it's not going to happen - England are going to win both - but it's a deal I'd gladly make.
Losing the Ashes hurts much more than losing any World Cup.
