Which of the current IPL players should be BCCI worldcup team PURELY based on their CURRENT fitness and performance?

Good form:
Hardik Pandya
Bumrah
Chahal (poor guy, does his bit, but is let down by fellow bowlers)
Shikhar Dhawan (sort of)
Virat Kohli (not his batting fault that RCB is rubbish)
MS Dhoni
Mohammad Shami (really impressed by his bowling in the IPL)

Poor form:
Rohit Sharma
Dinesh Karthik
Bhuvaneshwar Kumar (this is worrying, though hopefully English conditions will help. But not sure anymore)
Ambati Rayudu (thank you!)

Average form:
Vijay Shankar
Ravindra Jadeja
KL Rahul
Rishabh Pant
Kuldeep Yadav

Kedar Jadhav has been virtually absent, hasn't he?
Hardly got a chance, so can't judge.

Kohli and Chahal are certainties

As are Rohit Sharma and the Bum. Maybe Hardik Pandya.

Dhoni and Pant. They need 2 wicket keepers.

Mohd Shami and maybe K L Rahul.

Kuldeep Yadav

Bhuvi Kumar

Maybe Jadeja

Reamining 3 places could be taken up by Dhawan, Shankar and maybe Chahar.

my wife says Ravi S retired ) term expires in july 2019, so he gave his ass to bcci for KARTIK and K.Rahul

rahul not deserves for ODI because he not regular ODI PLAYER FOR INDIA

history witnessed SOFT CORNER for dinesh kartik
and rahul when ravi Shashtri around

vote system just joke i read how many vote player received at 2 pm meetings by BCCI members

prithvi just missed the bus with single vote
khalil received 1 vote
jadeja 5 vote
more than 22 player in the list which was voted by BCCI member but team was already picked by kohli and one special ass

pant gets more vote plus shankar also not in original
list of 15

This thread is exclusively for IPL players and their worldcup chances. Focus is on Indian players.

Now the squads announced, would the players play the game with same commitment & vigor to win going beyond skills giving their 100%???

So happy that umesh not selected.
A slap he deserved.

Happy for Chahal. He is in wrong team.

Overall not a bad selection job, IMO.

I feel bad that Pant wasn't picked - but, apart from that, no complaints.

This is the explanation.

Apparently Pant or Karthik will come in only if Dhoni isn't playing.
So only as wicket-keeper.

Then it makes sense to prefer Karthik to Pant.
Not that Karthik is particularly good, but Pant has some way to go with his keeping.

Although I have changed my opinion of Vijay Shankar, and look at him more favourably now than I did a few months ago, I'm still not convinced he's better than Pant.

Let's see how he goes.

Am not convinced about Vijay Shankar's bowling - and that's one of the reasons he has been picked.

On Ambati Rayudu.

I'll admit I didn't want him picked (am not happy with his SR), but I do feel bad thinking of his career as a whole.
I remember what a promising player he was 10-15 years ago.
The Indian middle-order was then locked up - and by the time it opened up, he was out of favour.
Others got their chance.

T20 bowling is different to ODI bowling. May be he is better fit for ODI. I doubt he gets to play any game as he would only be a backup if anyone is injured.

He's a direct battle with Rahul to bat 4. He's not a back up, he's ahead of Kathik according to the selectors.

Yeah - always sad when it pans out this way.

Ian Harvey for Australia could have been amazing, but Symonds and Watto...
