3 Format Masters

Postby Paddles » Thu Jan 11, 2018 11:19 pm

Who currently is a contender to make a World XI in all 3 formats? They don't have to make the final cut, just be in the discussion.

Its a fairly small group, and India's great depth for test batting, seems to cost its short form star players a shout.

SA: ABDV, QDK, Faf, Amla,
Eng: Root, Stokes
NZ: KW, Boult, (hopefully Southee one day)
Ind: Kohli, Pandya, (Sharma and Rahul are in and out of tests, Bumrah has only started tests), Dharwan maybe if he test tons up in Safrica?
Bng: Shakib
Aus: Starc, Warner (*Smith was retained by Pune, but I and forum users more puzzled by this decision, he really has done nothing of note in t20 of late).
SL: Mathews at best
WI: noone

Afg aint played a test yet so no Nabi or R Khan.

Who else is a fair shout? I think Rabada and Morkel will be t20 candidates in the future if fit and playing. Dwayne Bravo played well in CPLT20 last year and looked brilliant, but turned his back on the test and odi team.

A third umpire call for a run out or stumping is a referral, not a review.
