England batsman James Vince has slammed Australia as 'sore winners' following the home side's 4-0 Ashes win over the tourists.
"Well, Australia and English maybe take winning slightly differently," he said.
"I think the public and that try and rub it in a bit more. I think the English are probably slightly more graceful in winning.
"But we knew what to expect when we came here. That's just the way it is out here so it is what it is."

"Rock paper scissors match."
"Alright! Rock beats paper!"
"I thought paper covered rock."
"Nah, rock flys right through paper."
"Well, what beats rock?"
"Nothing beats rock."
I like Vaughan's tweet. Vince aint going to win much favour in Straya with his comments.

I find this prop pretty harmless.
Just some fun - we won 4-0, so someone decided to celebrate it loud.
That's all. Nothing graceless about it.
Or did something else trigger Vince's comment?

Were Strayan players expected to attend at these events?

I don’t know, but it was certainly the “public rubbing it in”
What possibly outcome of making such silly comments to the press did vince expect? I thought they gave these guys media training? It just makes them look like whining bitches

Public ticker tape parades and honours after the event and the like are not rubbing it in in my view. Else the All Blacks and Team NZ are in a whole lot of trouble.

Yeah, Vince lacked savvy for the Aussie media as a Sydney Thunder employee.

The Aussie media is always a little over the top. But the British media is worse. Don't know about the Indian media but the South African media when SA are winning tend to be tepid. But when the team loses they get nasty. Calling for peoples heads, Sacking everyone, Quotas etc.

Haha
Well is it hard hitting journalism or entertainment? Sports is a mix at best.
Jimmy Anderson stood up beyond expectations, the problem was 3 or 4 more England bowlers didn't stand up with him.
Boycott, Vaughan and Anderson all know that the England bowling wasn't strong enough. VC or not, Anderson bowled okay - what's he to say about the attack in 4 years in Straya that he at 35 is unlikely to be a part of? Jimmy wants a few more years for England, but 4 is pushing it - Boycs as a journo should be well aware of this. And if he is playing - playing at that age will take up most his effort, even more than now, as against future player development.
What does Jimmy as a VC have to do with EWCB player development and plans 4 years down the track?
Boycs - good questions - but ask them to the right person - Strauss. Not even Joe Root as C is the right person to ask about 4 years in the future. England need seamers who will bag wickets in Straya. Pretty simple Boycs. This isn't Jimmy's job yet if ever at all.

True I just find it brilliant that Boycott apparently just chucked his mike and walked off - about Vaughan’s behaviour more than Jimmy’s

I have time for both Vaughan and Boycs as commentators. Boycs isn't the sharpest tool in the shed but calls it as he sees it. Vaughan is smarter, funnier and also often calls it how he sees it. Vaughan, far more recently retired, knows who's role is what than what Boycs' experienced in his era.
Both are better than a lot of NZ commentators imo.

Who is it who is on TMS, a Kiwi. Jeremy Coney? I've never come across poor commentary from him personally.
I don't know many more Kiwi commentators though. I think Jacob Oram I might have heard occasionally?

Coney is a Kiwi on tms radio. I like him. He's good value in my experience.
I'm unaware what Oram is upto these days. Good player, tho. Wanted to be a bat - only problem was that he bowled better than he batted as his career progressed. But one of those players with him still in the sleeve - gave hope to a fan regardless of reqd run rate.
In NZ we're lacking a bit of genuine and knowledgable including local player commentary. Doull knows more about Indian players than NZ and Richardson is more interested in golf than local cricket or the live game these days it seems. Mills and Adams were or are being blooded to fill this hole but Mills just got the NZ bowling coach role and Adams hasn't been promoted beyond domestic yet. But as a long time pro in N Z and Eng, and a recent coach - he provides more valuable commentary than many of those with more tests played than him.
Styris is very good and well informed as well as informative though.
Wilson was very good, but like his playing career, cricket fans lost his commentary career to rugby also. He was continually interested in what the bowler, captain and batsman were or should be thinking and executing.
