Has DRS killed the umpires confidence?

Postby Verity » Tue Aug 29, 2017 8:28 am

The umpiring in this Bangladesh v Australia Test has been woeful; they have heaps of decisions overturned and howlers at that.

I can't remember pre DRS there being so many wrong calls in international cricket so my question is simple; has the DRS fucked the international umpires?

It must be embarrassing to have your decisions torn apart in front of the entire crowd and the players you're supposed to be overseeing

I think Aleem Dar's beard has affected his confidence.
Llong has been okay.

They are woeful since last 50 years. There is no validation of their atrocities and racial bias. Now we got proof.

Buckner was a good umpire until he got too old, they let him continue on too long.

There should be a age limit for international umpires tbh.

physical age has nothing to do with mental maturity.

Trump is a good president. If you get your news from paid liars and unfunny comedians (also paid liars) then you might have a different perspective.

the issue with umpires is sight, hearing and reflexes go with age, most other brain faculties are still working well into 70's

I just think a that you're not in the prime of your life when you're that age, and if you're leader of one of the worlds most influential countries you probably should be more in the prime of your life. Seasoned and experienced yes, but that means late 40s, not 70s.

And I don't disagree with everything trump says, nor was I thinking just of trump, but sorry some of the stuff he does seems to shout senility

There's no substitute for experience. I think you're being ageist.
