BCCI's pathetic catching in the slips

Postby raja » Thu Aug 03, 2017 2:37 pm

Especially Kohli's.

Good read. These are aspects of the game that go unnoticed.

According to this,
Kohli dropped McCullum and he went on to get that massive triple.
He dropped Cook who went on to score a series-turning 95.

I didn't even know this.

We need drops to get recorded as stats (who dropped whom at what individual score).
We have a zillion stats out there - but this is one which we need badly.

Kiran More's drop of Gooch (on 30) helping Gooch to his triple century readily comes to mind.

They had kohli on a master class this morning and this came out of his mouth:

"For some reason, we've never understood why, but Indian players often are under pressure when they play outside India. As if they aren't a good player unless they make runs outside India."

Obviously, kohli!

Kohli wants to cover his ass as he dropped more catches in the slips in last 3 series at home and Away.RAHANE become second Indian player, who completed 50 test catches in 39 test. (E.Solkar,50 in 26 test #1)

Some websites in India showing total list including video of All dropped catches in India by VK,So some people wants him and Vijay (worst too) to hides in the grounds during Indian Fielding innings than hang around in the slips.

I think Rahane is greatest Indian Fielder of alltime.

Catches are part of game

Rohit dropped on zero went on to 264 in ODI
Lara dropped on 7 and 278 went on to 501 not out
He was also dropped during his marathon 400 not out in test.

I am not interested in who missed how many chances - unless that is coupled with a stat of HOW many runs were conceded as a result.
That gives an idea of cost of a player on the field.

I am more interested in who benefited how much from missed chances.
A lot of batsmen have been plain lucky.

Yes probably 1000 (runs) plus in test plus other format, Chiku given alone.
