Rama Chandra guha asking 2 questions.
1. Why dhoni is in top tier when he is not playing test cricket anymore ?
2. Why is gavaskar being paid top dollar when he is clearly working for other org but not on BCCI PAYROLL?
Why exceptions are made for just these two ?

He also wants kumble given more powers than cricketers

Kumble's resignation letter is in the public domain.
I'd like to hear Kohli's version too before drawing any conclusions on this.

The resignation letter.
http://www.espncricinfo.com/india/conte ... 04945.html

I think Kohli might not respond with his version. Maybe a few platitudes - but it's unlikely we'll know the truth.

The story going around is that not all, but just a few players, were not happy with Kumble.

I'd like to know who these guys are. If not disclosed, people will speculate.

Looks like Sehwag could be the next coach, though names of Tom Moody and Richard Pybus are also floating around.

Now some Indians are saying BCCI lost the final because of this rift.
What nonsense!
The rift didn't prevent them from reaching the final - and suddenly it's the reason they lost?
Basically Indians don't want to give credit to Pakistan. :-)
They'll find some reason or the other - some even said, every Pakistan match was fixed!
There are a few exceptions of course, but in general, I think Indians are terrible losers! :-)

Yes !

Here are the reasons for BCCI's final loss

1. Match is fixed. ( don't ask who got paid to lose it. It's uncomfortable for rockstar fans. May be it's kumble who got paid to lose the match. Does it matter if he is not a player? He definitely did it )

2. Anil kumble coaching faults . Again. Does it matter if he is not a player or they won till finals? He definitely did it somehow.

3. Weather man gave wrong forecast that it would rain during innings break but it never rained

4. Umpires. They called a no ball intentionally as they got paid by Pakistan. Video men also got paid to show wrong foot footage. Sab mile huye hai jee (Kejri)

5. ECB who gave a magic carpet pitch that did not turn out as expected. Pitch had a change of mind during innings break.

6. Mallya's presence in England jinxed the match against BCCI

7. Twitter BCCI fans did an over the top rants that resulted in a loss (Sehwag the main culprit)

8. The black cat that crossed the path from BCCI dressing room

9. Harsha bhogle. No reasons needed to blame him for anything including global warming. He did it.

10. Anushka. Not just virat but she some how made all others fail also be it a noball or run out, she is behind it.

:lmao:

You know what? I was just thinking that the video clip of a no-ball can be doctored, isn't it?

You keep a supply of foot-crossing-line clips in hand. In these clips, only the foot landing as a no-ball is shown. You don't even know whose foot it was.

Then, in the no-ball related clip for the umpire, quietly insert one of these frames to show it as a no-ball.

Possible, right?

You can blur the face. But batsmen should wear green and bowler blue dress.

Players who have retired recently and have not found any other gainful employment and still hang on as parasites, should not be employed in any shape or form. Ganuli, Tendulkar, Kumble and even Dravid, VVS should be kept away from the current team. They are just too full of themselves.
Kumble had suddenly engineered a captaincy for himself , past expiry date of his career when he was appointed captain for India tour of SL , where he almost went wicket less. Their egos are bigger than their capabilities.

All fine, I hope?

Who do you think should then coach Team BCCI?

I wonder whether they even need a coach.

I didn't realise that Shastri might come back into contention. He and Kohli apparently get along great.

I take randiTV news with pinch of salt. Paid media Morons.

Ravi sastry is not fit to be coach. He would make a good tour manager

@Raja,
I prefer foreign coach, who has no past history or loyalties to anyone in the BCCI swamp.
After a player retires there should be a period of like 10 years when they should not be allowed in administrative or coaching positions inside BCCI.

There are names of foreign coaches being thrown around. Tom Moody, Richard Pybus, for example.

I don't know much about their coaching style to comment.

If these guys are also strong on discipline & hard work, it might not go down well with BCCI players.'

They probably just want to be left alone, have fun.

If they want the coach for anything, they should be able to contact him.

If he's on their backs all the time, that's a pain. They are not kids.

I fancied making a Coaches XI. Can give Andy flower the gloves. Alan Donald was a coach wasn't he? Gary Kirsten and Darren Lehmann in the middle order. Curtley Ambrose was a coach I think for a bit.

Kohli may not want a coach for the team and merely a admin manager and maybe a bowling as well as a possible batting coach BUT not a head coach.

Captain as selector and in charge of strategy is oft a thorny issues for many nations and teams. But some captains want total control, and some others just want to execute their orders from above and some find a middle ground. Australian selectors, head coach and Steve Smith have meetings before teams are announced. Its no secret that he oft gets players in the team that he wants. Mind you - the oppposite may also be true as well.

Kohli is a bit new to the captaincy role to be asking for total control; but I'm sure the surrounding circumstances will be leaked to us over time.

End of the day - it is typically better for all involved if the captain, coach and selectors are able to meet, chat, and get along while debating strategies and selections.
Law 31.6 - benefit of the doubt for an dismissal appeal goes to the batsman
A third umpire call for a run out or stumping is a referral, not a review.

'I have total respect for Kumble as a cricketer' - Kohli

(what he didn't say: but not for him as a coach).

I think best is to leave Kohli to take full charge - and responsibility.
He doesn't need someone breathing down his neck.
