Australia Drought

Saw it mentioned on the news.
Apparently it is very bad in NSW, with farmers in trouble and being financially supported by the govt.
Aussies here, your thoughts?

same as california. land encroachment and depleted ground water. same story in india too.

its isolated and far from the worst drought

Australia is a land of droughts, its part of the climate

the problem is the lack of dams in the area and is more political than anything else. Many of the farmers (probably younger ones) didn't plan for the cycle and are seeking government assistance. It'd be great if we could all get compensation when our businesses go through hard times.

This is what annoys me about these farmers. They seem to think they have privileges the rest of us don't.

There are plenty of food sources. This is just one region of Australia, northern NSW.
Its their own fault for not stockpiling feed.

...and they still put their hand out for government aid when they don't plan for droughts
