I read about this at some other site thought it can't be true then looked and found authenticity here. Hmmm
I am afraid Australia is going to join to my personal list of no fly country just like France. Alas.

Australia man arrested on charges of helping Islamic State develop missile technology

By Colin Packham | SYDNEY

Australian counterterrorism police arrested an unidentified man after a raid on a countryside property on Tuesday and accused him of seeking to help the Islamic State group by developing missile technology, the first arrest of its kind in Australia.

Dozens of police, including a dog squad and some officers with metal detectors, raided a property in Young, about 270 km (170 miles) southwest of Sydney, earlier on Tuesday, pictures on Australian media showed.

Ian McCartney, Assistant Commissioner of counter-terrorism for the Australian Federal Police, said police will allege the 42-year-old man had been advising the radical Islamist group on how to develop the technical capability to detect guided missiles and to build their own missiles.

"We will also allege that he has been researching, designing and modeling systems to assist ISIL's efforts to develop their own long-range guided missile capabilities," McCartney said, using another common term to describe Islamic State.

Other police alleged the man had been attempting to research and design a laser missile-warning device.

The Australian-born man, who was trained as an electrician, was expected to face court later on Tuesday, police said.

The Islamic State group has come under sustained attack in recent weeks from coalition air strikes, which have seen the group lose much of its foothold in Syria and Iraq.

Australian air force planes have been involved in some of those strikes against the group.

A staunch U.S. ally, Australia also sent troops to fight in Afghanistan and Iraq and has been on heightened alert for attacks by home-grown radicals since 2014.

While authorities say they have thwarted a number of plots in recent years, particularly involving radicalize teenagers, Australia had not yet made any arrests of individuals accused of offering such technical assistance to an extremist group.

About 100 people have left Australia for Syria to fight alongside groups such as Islamic State, Australia's immigration minister said last year.

There have also been several "lone wolf" assaults, including a 2014 cafe siege in Sydney in which two hostages and a gunman were killed, and the killing of a police accountant in 2015.

We do, her name is Pauline Hanson and unfortunately she appeals to the same group of disenfranchised people that Trump does. She will never be PM but could easily control the balance of power in one or both the lower & upper houses of Parliament after the next election in 2019.

Australia doesn't have 733 people shot dead every year, we don't have maniacs with ready access to full Auto guns who walk into schools and shoot 20 odd 5 & 6 yos dead, our schools don't have metal detectors at the front door. Like every other western country in the world you are still far more likley to get killed by a drunken or drugged driver going through a red light then in a terrorist attack.

I mean this.
I saw this video and thought it's India or Middle East but genuinely surprised that it's Sydney to have 50,000 on same single street.

Melbourne man 'slaughtered' wife in front of children over desire to join Islamic State, prosecution says

Police believe a Melbourne man who allegedly "slaughtered" and then mutilated his wife in front of their three young children may have murdered her because she did not want him to join the Islamic State group in Syria, court documents have revealed.

The 35-year-old Broadmeadows man is also accused of bashing two of their children, aged under six, around the head — in one instance with a milk crate — and burning his toddler daughter with hot water.

The man cannot be identified under a court order to protect the identity of his children.

He was arrested and charged with the murder of his wife after police arrived at his home in July 2016 and found his children suffering from head injuries.

The three children were taken to the Royal Children's Hospital and told police they had witnessed their father "slaughtering" their mother with a knife in the lounge room, according to the prosecution summary.

Another of the children told detectives his mother's "body was nothing but blood".

They told police their father wrapped the 27-year-old's body in electrical tape, plastic and a doona before putting her body in the boot of the family car.

It is alleged the man drove to grassland next to the Dallas tennis courts where he dumped the body, before taking his children, who were also in the car, to a bakery to buy pastries.

Her body was found with a large number of slashes and deep cuts including to her face, legs and lower back.

The prosecution summary alleged the man told his brother-in-law he had fought with his wife over his desire to go to Syria to fight for Islamic State and had sliced her hand with a knife six months before her death.

Husband did not allow wife to leave house: court documents

In the months before her death, it is alleged the woman was not allowed to leave the house, speak to her family or watch television.

Her husband also erected a tarp on the fence around the backyard to stop neighbours from seeing into their property and covered their home's window with shutters, according to the prosecution summary.

The children had never attended school and only spoke broken English.

"He wanted them to only speak Lebanese, and learn the Koran," the prosecution summary stated.

"He wanted to teach them about guns, swords, war and jihad."

The committal hearing is expected to conclude on Monday when a magistrate will decide if there is enough evidence to send him to trial.
