Great.

What is Ireland famous for ?

Some suggestions:

Land of Celtic Ballad

Guinness beer country

Crack People (not what you think)

Emerald Isle

Jackeens land

World’s most expensive place to drink beer

Land of cool Colleens

Origin of titanic

All White third world country

No offense. Just for fun ;)

Where are the tests? Ireland or Bangla?

Just one Test in Dublin next May along with 3 ODIs and T20s

Bangers can beaten anywhere in Ireland.i bet.
We haven't beat Bangladesh at home since 2010 in any format (not counting the Ireland Wolves' win over them this summer)

Folks
Last time Ireland in NZ way back in 2012 -- So far Ireland lost 12 in NZ
It was 2014 actually and it was a few games against provincial teams and two one day games against New Zealand A

I should also mention the great news last week of Paul Stirling's decision to commit to Ireland rather then renew his County contract with Middlesex. Best news we've had all year. Still no news on Tim Murtagh although it is expected that he will retire from international cricket.

Great thread. Love this idea.

We lost Baggers and Mike to a different forum so we lost the Australian thread.

And BoyCaught30 left here so we lost the County Cricket report for England.

Be nice if we had one person from all the leading cricket countries.

That's a big blow for you guys. He should just keep going. He'll be 39 next year, Hadlee played at 39...

He will keep going but he has to make a choice between international and county after this season

We went through that with Jeetan Patel. Not getting picekd for NZ, he retired from NZ intl to secure a County deal on a Brit Passport, did very well and got an intl call up, cos he was still playing domestic here. He turned it down, cos the County deal was good, and he got a domestic deal here anyway. Basically saying - I don't want the chance of a few match fees, I need financial security.

Anyway, few years later, he is still doing very well at domestic. This time, he and his county work a work around, they agree to leave him uncontracted for the off season. He does a deal with NZC, leaving him on a domestic contract here, but suddenly reavailable for NZ - just as were touring India in October with a full home summer, so some form of contract was presumably done cos he played in Ireland in May when the IPL players were rested (NZ prob thought Santner and Sodhi would be signed up in IPL after starring in Wt20 2016). Patel played for NZ, things didn''t go that great, and as soon as the seam commitments were over in May cos he wasn't going to make the CHamps Trophy team and they knew he wouldn't anyway with Sodhi and Santner wll ahead of him in limited overs, he was wanted for tests, so he signed back up with his county, only have missed the May games.

So there are work arounds if the county will play ball. Its a bit more difficult sharing the same season. But its been done. Its a total rort, but off seasons and 1 off tests, its not a big deal.
