I wouldn't say I am pro-Karthik, just that I'm not as opposed to his inclusion now as I was earlier.
Having said that, I read that Saha injured himself in the IPL - and will miss the Test series.
So Karthik is likely to take over as keeper - and that I really don't feel good about.
I don't rate his keeping.

Agree that Pant deserves a shot.
Dhoni, in a sense, reminds me of an aging Miandad.
Street fighters, both - a match was never over as long as they could still play a role in it.
You never wrote off Miandad - yet, towards the end of his career, he looked increasingly fallible.
Same with Dhoni now.

He first gave up Tests, to focus on ODIs/T20s.
With the World Cup coming up in a year, he looks keen to hang in there for now, in the national side.
If he does, I fear his batting could cost BCCI a key game.
Like Yuvi cost India the World T20 trophy a few years ago.

Dhoni doesn't deserve this.
He's brought BCCI a lot of glory, he has nothing more to prove to anyone - he should just go out in glory.

Let Pant take over the gloves from here. Or anyone else.

Dhoni's reign should come to an honourable end.

(Staying away from CSK-related controversy).

ECB puts BCCI to bat first.
anything under 300 is walk over win.

THIS is the tour I look forward to.
BCCI in England.

Most Indians look forward to BCCI in Australia but for me, England is where BCCI is tested most.
South Africa too, of course - but the rivalry with England goes much longer and deeper.

Dhoni is batting slower and slower as innings goes on. Strike rate about to hit 50

Sorry to say but it looks like Dhoni has gone from finisher to finished.

THIS is what Dhoni brings to the table.
Even at this age and stage in his career.

Dinesh Karthik, Parthiv Patel and co aren't in this league.
Saha is the only one who matches Dhoni on keeping skills.
....
9.1
Chahal to Root, out James Vince Run Out!! Brilliance from MSD! It was a wayward throw from Hardik at mid-wicket and MS did well to fling across to stick out his right hand, then whip off the bails all in one motion. James Vince was always struggling to get there but perhaps had a chance with the throw going off target. Dhoni had other ideas though and as it turns out, gone by a whisker. It was tucked into the leg-side and the call for a single was always a risky one. Error in judgment and that's a timely strike for India. James Vince run out (Hardik Pandya/Dhoni) 27(27) [4s-5]

Congratulations, England.
Very well done.
And this is evidence of England's disciplined performance in ODIs of late.

Ravi Shastri?
Where does he come into the picture?
I don't get the context.

I missed ajinkya rahane in the middle order. I think selecting Dinesh karthik was a mistake. Ajinkya rahane is far far better than Dinesh karthik and Lokesh rahul. Disappointed with the series loss. India had been winning the last 10 ODI series.

sarahah, you're not alone.

Raja loves Rahane so much he calls him the Rahane, "Trahane" for short.

Tell him more about Anjinka.
Law 31.6 - benefit of the doubt for an dismissal appeal goes to the batsman
A third umpire call for a run out or stumping is a referral, not a review.

Rahane is fine for Tests, but I wouldn't pick him in ODIs or T20s.

The big mistake was to persist with Raina, at the cost of a quality batsman like Rahul.

Raina's best days are clearly behind him now.

Heck, he even struggled in the IPL this time.

He's playing only on reputation.

Rahul is India's hottest batsman right now after Kohli.

Unless he's injured, why wouldn't you pick him?
