Great seaming grounds here in NZ.. pity the Aussies were not playing on these decks in Sth Africa. Hazlewood would be in his element.

so would Vernon

Paddles must be ecstatic with this Boult assault. Stokes cleaned up with a beauty. England all out 150?

They grow up on decks like these. No excuse for bad batting. Still feeling the mental affects of their Ashes hiding?

Will change that to 100. Perhaps even 50. Boycs will be physically sick when he wakes to this.

With their keeper in the top 6 do England have anyone with the credentials needed to bat with the tail?

England need to be thankful they have worlds best swing bowler in Anderson.

if they'd bowled them out for 20 something they could've declared at 0/0 and try to bowl them out twice in these conditions

remove Overtons beligerant 33 and it is total annihilation.

Boult started the rot and finished it. Superb swing bowling.

At least NZ cannot lose by an innings.
Loss still very much on the cards though.
What a magnificent recovery by England.

Yes raja. Do you know of any teams that have scored 50 in first innings and have won the Test. Kiwis are about to pass the England total with only the single wicket down. This game wont even go three days IMO. Anderson has failed on a deck which should suit him.

This is the strongest England side since May's side of the 1950s.
A bit of a blip this morning, but am fully expecting England to come back strongly in this Test.

It is called consolidating the innings. Last thing Williamson wanted was to get off to a shocker like the Poms. Now the Black Caps can control the match from here.

Only 2 possibilities here:
NZ lose
England draws.

Either way, England will win the next one, so it's either 2-0 England. Or 1-1.

Ben Stokes is back in Test cricket. Equally big news - England captain Joe Root will bat at No. 3, with James Vince given the boot. New Zealand have won the toss and they will bowl.

i expect the english to be all out by end of day. ;)
