Boycs. I watched one of those Sky Cricket special programs last night about Anderson, interviewed in the Old Trafford pavilon by Ian Ward. Think the show is a few months old, but he says he is fit & raring to go for the 2019 Ashes. As for Wood, well he has bowled with pace & a bit of bounce which has troubled the Aussie batsmen a little. Also he has shown good variation in pace & line when bowling at the death. Plunkett looks like he has a Hamstring strain & will be out. Dont think he's particularly fit & no way could he have played in the Tests. Morgan's captaincy has been noticeable. Oh & a few tasty batting knocks help. I'm predominently a Test fan but these one day wins are cheering a few people up after the doom!

poor Smith fined 40% of his match fee for slow over rate.
He should fine his bowlers for sending down 13 wides

The one thing that stands out to me is England seem to know what they're doing with this game whilst the Aussie team look like they're learning the game with no real plans. Unless big changes are made to the domestic one day set up expect a poor showing at the next world cup. Already the losing streak in ODI series is the worst ever.

We probably can’t hold this newfound ODI ability together long enough to reach the next World Cup

Its not newfound.

Its started in 2015.

You've been doing it for nigh on 3 years now including 3 home summers.

And you saw off Safrica at home last year in the ODI's.

If anything, with Woakes improvement to his batting, you're just getting stronger and stronger.

But just like the Champs Trophy last year, come finals, anything can happen.

I was thinking newfound relative to how long it's been since 1992.

Can we please not call this series the ODI Ashes?
The Ashes have a certain connotation and context - these are just the usual bilateral series teams play.

Maybe if these had context too (and were built up like the Ashes are), Australia would take them seriously.
I don't think they're too serious about this series - winning the Test series was the big thing.

Having said that, I don't want to run down England's performance.
Absolutely brilliant - deserved to win every game.
They're a very good ODI side - it's high time they converted this quality into a meaningful trophy.
Winning the ODI World Cup at home would be just the right reward for them.

Good to see Root win SOMETHING on this tour. He's a good lad - I like him. :-)

Here here raja. Ashes have been played and one by the better team. This is not the women's game. The ASHES ARE THE PINNACLE OF TEST CRICKET for mine. This is pyjama cricket with the player seeing the ball and hitting the ball. Graveyards for good bowlers!!!

Trevor Hohns is right Australia need short form players with Nerve and Nouse.

England have it in spades .

Even in the Big Bash last night Joe Denly an English import played such an innings for the Sixers to win from a difficult position.

ashes = bend-over-pants-down test cricket.
almost similar to what BCCI & staffers are doing but there is a little more fight offered by BCCI.

I changed it to "Poor Man's Wagner". He'd have to pitch it up more often and get swing to be a "Poor man's Pattinson".

Loved his wicket of Morgan. A long hop wide down leg side that Morgan chased and nicked.

Straight out of the Mitchell McCleanaghan "Crap gets Wickets" playbook.

Healy says they are using the Gloucester Park clay and added reports are it will be as quick as the original WACA of a decade or so ago when the WACA was genuinely quick.

England went for a below par score and we will see how Australia go on it shortly.

It looked like a fast wicket with carry.

They have Stoinis

this series was lost because Warner and Smith did close to nothing. The bowling generally was pretty dire too with a couple of intermittent exceptions.

Ussie found form in the BBL. I'm not sure Smith or Warner played any games.

England's spinners also were >>>>>>> Australia's spinners
