What a debut Test wicket for Curran.. the worlds best batsman. The kid must have had his heart in his throat as the ump checked his front foot.

Scientists need to work out a way to bring about a bubble of English conditions that England can take around with them and park on top of Australian wickets.
Australia could use the same scientists when we tour your shores.

This is far from the batting paradise as some are saying. Plenty for the bowler.. some seam, reverse swing.. variable bounce..three aspects in favor of the bowler.

He is too good in his all ashes innings with the average standing 44 but I do not think he can Bats as Good vs Specialist spinner on bowlers Friendly wicket.he is better keeper than wade because he can use crease better than much confused wade

I like Paine's use of feet against spin. He may not be great against a specialist spinner but he is not going to gift his wicket by planting his front foot and hoping bat hits ball.

England helped by some uneven bounce on this crappy MCC drop in. Three chop ons in that collapse.

If he takes half a day off the field then he's out of the bowling attack for a day.
This is the problem with this condition that was introduced because England of 2005 abused substitutions giving their bowlers half an hour or more off the field in between spells whilst they brought on a fielding specialist.

You have never been allowed to stay of for an extended period, but a bowler stays of for 1/2 hour then comes back on for 1/2 hour before bowling its still cheating.

Bowling four right arm quicks very samey.Resting Starc has boosted the England batters confidence. Australia has to find a left arm back up for him.

I move that we should go back to 6 test ashes series and bring Hobart in.
This way we get at least 4 live matches and a chance for England to play themselves into form.

Maybe this could be done if they bring in 4 day test matches?

Steve Smith has Mitch Marsh and Hazlewood up his sleeve, so what does he do... he brings on himself and bowls a full toss and a long hop.
Cook says thank you very much, the beers are on me.

Cook making a 100 which is absolutely worthless, just boosts his stats.

Starc injured, Cummins looks like he is having fever, Australian bowling run rugged.

There's absolutely nothing in this pitch either. England did well to get something out of it, aided by some brainless Aussie batting.

Oh come on. We can’t slate cook for not making runs and then slate him for making runs that are worthless when he does.

Australia’s bowling attack is still good. Cook has made a monumental effort to turn around hideous form into a century. The mental element alone shows how he is a genuine class player.

We’re smiths runs in the first innings meaningless? We should be fairer to these people.

We’re smiths runs in the first innings meaningless? We should be fairer to these people.

Cook is a great player but looked past his prime this series. Superb century but fact is didnt score in the crunch games.

Yeah but unlike Tendulkar, Cook won a series in Australia with a ton of series runs at 127.66 and now has 8 years to run his runs if not centuries records down. And he's an opener! From England!

Hail chef!

He needs a nice overseas tour of somewhere with English like conditions, like.... New Zealand!

Four centuries in the tour. Calling it.

Hehe - its only a two test series. Ill take it if he loses at least 1 test. But 4 centuries vs Boult and Wagner in 2 tests - thats a lot to ask from a lhb opener - even with a Kookaburra ball.

Pakistan first and India next = 2 more at home in 2018 but I do not think he can hits 100 in 4 innings of the series in NZ
