Woakes and Overton are better than most top-order batsmen in the world today.
And with Broad and Anderson still to come, England could be looking at getting this total upto 350-400 at least.

I like the look of this Overton fulla. On career stats alone I woulda had him over Ball before last test. But he's here now.

And a lot to like about him for EWCB fans.

I look forward to seeing his twin brother bowl 1fiddy at the same height one day.

Poor man's James Pattinson.

James Pattinson is one of those bowlers I'd enjoy watching bowl in the nets, he's that good.

I'd still rather watch Pattinson bowl (incl injured at moment) in the nets than Cummins bowling mid 130s bouncers at a number 9 around the wicket in a test match.

I underestimated these guys.
They're not showing the slightest signs of being in trouble.
Not only will England just waltz into a lead, even an innings defeat for Australia cannot be ruled out.

Overton has been England's best bowler and batsman in this match.
Dobell is clueless by criticizing his selection. He's brought something to this England team.

22 more runs 2 wickets in hand to follow on.

It is these games within games that help make even one sided test matches enthralling for test cricket fans.*

* I would have said purists but I really like limitedover esp 50 over cricket as well.

He might be thinking of tiring their bowlers further for the rest of the series. Other than Perth CA has a chance to rest one of the quicks for a second spinner at either Melbourne or Sydney. The WACA has seen masses of runs ths FC season so that could be a slug for the bowlers.

Someone in England has to support cricket or Aussies and Indians will have noone to brag over when they win at home.

For some countries, believe it or not, cricket is a national sport.

Baseball has a strike zone and pitching wide 4 times walks the batter.

Altho walking Smithy in Brisbane woulda been a good idea.

That’s better Jimmy. Edged short of the keeper first ball then a beautiful ball to nick through to the keeper second ball.

Something to cheer about. Good bowling conditions. Maybe we can scrape together some confidence, or at least a higher pulse rate, from this little session

I agree but in Smith's defence only 3 seamers made it a tougher call.
