You talk as it is a fault if a player is an all rounder. Ashwin is no sissy. blame top order batting not ashwin if he is forced to play batting and SAVE the game. kudos to him, not brickbats or non selection into team for GOOD ALLROUNDER performance. Don’t be driven by Hate AGAIN !

I am glad BCCI accept Anurag's idea of seprate spinner for seprate format, it's good opportunity for best talent to shows their worth.

Now both Ash and Jadeja under pressure to performs better vs SL starting Calcutta test on November 16 Or January 5th ('18) first test vs Southafrica,I do not think RJadeja get chance to play much in next 8 Overseas test in SAfrica or England
NZ batted 27 overs for their 26 (WR in Tests) all out in 1955

I dont think Ashwin would make this team any better, but Jadeja with his fielding might.

I am actually saying Ashwin is valuable in Test cricket (with bat or ball) and shouldn't risk injury playing other formats, considering others like Chahal and Yadav are good enough for those.

India not take Jadeja in ALL TEST OVERSEAS for his Fielding only.Ashwin is our number six top batsman. If SREYES IYER forced to enter in Indian test team it will be very strong compitition
For batting spot in Indian team but I doubt India WILL PLAY WITHOUT ASH ANYWAHERE,

We do not need Ashwin for ODI till our Second string fails vs minor like Srilanka and Newzeland

In 111 ODI his batting average is 16.00 so I do not think he is All rounder in LIMITED FORMAT

when was last time Ash plays for India in T20I.? 4/1/8/4 vs Feeble Lanka but with highest scores of 31 in T20I he still not a allrounder in T20I

Agree.
Assets need to be nurtured & deployed with care.
BCCI is lucky to have terrific bench strength right now, with bat and ball.
Gives them the luxury of resting players, testing players.

Chahal drops Paine off his own bowling. Then Dhoni misses a stumping. Then Bhuvaneswari drops a sitter.

Chahal must be mad.

Australia two A's not out batsman while India's two B bowlers operating so C means covers are On, I think scorer tells Australian innings over 118 for 8 off 18.4 (must be new rules)

Waiting for Indian targets.

BCCI needed 48 in a game that was reduced to 6 overs.
11/1 after 1.3 overs.
So 37 required off 27.
Piece of cake.
Very unfair that with DLS, wickets are not reduced.
You have 10 wickets when you have to bat out 20 overs.

6 over max innings? This is taking the piss.
India would've won anyway, but 6 overs is a joke.
Should be minimum 10 to make it a match.

Wickets and overs remaining both are factored into DLS. If Straya had been less wickets down - the total for India would have been higher. What it doesn't take into account is variable batting depth between teams - it assumes all teams are the same and that the lower middle order and tail are weaker than top and higher (and I believe ignores who is at the crease - e.g. ABDV could still be in at 5 or 6 wickets down - DLS would punish Safrica more than Safrican fans would like). Put simply - teams that bat deep are treated less favorably than light batting teams. DLS also has no input for pitch conditions.

Right now the current formulation of DLS is widely thought to advantage the chasing team (so DLS is a factor to chase at the toss if poor weather is forecast).

DLS isn't perfect but gives the broadcasters something for their money in their scheduled broadcast.
If any moderator or administrator is able to add Going South to my foe list, I would greatly appreciate it.

Australia denied advantage of new rules

1:52 PM ACDT
Arun Venugopal in Ranchi

From the version of events relayed by Aaron Finch, it would appear that Australia weren't allowed the advantage of ICC's new playing conditions for shortened games even though DRS - part of T20Is only under the new playing conditions - was in play in Ranchi.

According to the new playing conditions which came into effect on September 28, DRS would now be used in T20 Internationals in addition to Tests and ODIs. They also state that in a game "reduced to less than 10 overs, the maximum quota of overs per bowler shall not be less than two: meaning that if a match is reduced to five overs a side, two bowlers will be able to bowl two overs each."

But this was not the case on Saturday despite the chase being cut to six overs. While three Australia bowlers could have bowled a maximum of two overs each under the new rules, only one - Nathan Coulter-Nile - was allowed to do that. Four others - debutant Jason Beherendoff, Andrew Tye, Adam Zampa and Dan Christian - sent down one over each.

Finch acknowledged it was strange that the rules were "mixed and matched" for the series. "I didn't know there was a review system until about the fifth over. Nobody did," he said at the post-match interaction. "Steve Smith, when he ran out a drink, mentioned it. So, we had to ask the umpires. But it is quite strange to have a crossover of rules for this series. I mean bat sizes and things like that are coming in at the end of the series. The over situation with a shortened game - three bowlers being allowed to bowl two overs - but DRS was in for this. It didn't have any effect on the game. I just thought it was quite odd to have mixed and matched the rules for this series."

Shikhar Dhawan, who arrived for India's press conference, admitted to being in the dark as well. "I'm sure they [Australia] would have felt the inconsistency," he said. "But whatever is the rule, is the rule. I'm not exactly aware of the rule you were talking about. But, it is what it is."

Some of the confusion may have risen because the new rules weren't in operation in the ODI series between India and Australia because it had begun before the roll-out date. The ICC had taken the decision to avoid the discrepancy of playing a few games by the old rules and a few by the new ones.

Roughly 7 weeks of nothing till the first Ashes Test.

Looks like it's back to the Ipad reader and John Grisham and co or Skyrim and Witcher on the PS IV.

Sheffield Shield starting soon.
You'll need a cricket australia pass or optus account to watch it.

I've been thinking of heading down to the D/N'er vs NSW

They show the Bash on Sky Sports cricket but doubt they'll show the Shield.

When I visit Australia one day I wish I could take in a Test or an FC game however I'd die if I visited in the summer, will have to be a June/July visit and just go see the international grounds and the museums! And the one in Bowral!

yes. visit as soon as you can as you never know you could be able to do safe international travel in future. Europe is already off the chart for travel, just saying.

I have English born neighbours either side and they love the South Qld climate problem is cricket grounds are cauldrons anyway.

Sydney's SCG can be reasonable in summer.

avoid Adelaide and Perth. Melbourne can get stifling hot too, but the weather is more variable in summer.

most poms prefer Queensland and NSW anyway.

When: India vs Australia, 2nd T20I, October 10, 19:30 IST; 13:30 GMT

Where: ACA Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati

What to expect: Spinners have had much more success at this venue than the pacers, including three of the best four bowling figures in first class cricket. However, seamers like Mohit Sharma and Basil Thampi had particularly noteworthy games in last year's Ranji Trophy. The curator Mukut Kalita is hopeful his surface will have something for everyone on its international debut.

Did you know?

- The Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati will be the 49th Indian venue to host an international match.

- India have beaten Australia in seven matches in a row now. Only one team has had a longer winning streak against a particular opponent - Pakistan have won all their nine T20I encounters against Zimbabwe.

- In the six matches they've played against each other in 2017 across formats, Yuzuvendra Chahal has dismissed Glenn Maxwell on five occasions.

What they said:

"It's very important to keep talking to senior players. These guys have played so much cricket. They're legends in their field. If you gain even some experience, then your career will benefit."
