same as what Wade is doing in the test side
F**K all :lol:

In the end the difference was Bangladesh bowled better than we did in the first innings.
The batting canceled each other out - however that remains Aussies glaring weakness on the SC.
If some of the top order could show the same application/temperament as Cummins, we might win more than 2 tests in 10 years.

Lies! This West Indies team is better than even the mid-1980s team. Everyone knows that.

Australia however is weaker than..... Fiji!

I think Bangladesh will be a fantastic team in the coming years, the only thing I don't see them getting is fast bowlers but they have plenty of good spinners and batsmen coming through.

Mortaza was a decent quick in his time

the problem is they dont tour outside the SC much to require these types of bowlers

Wow! What a fantastic win for Bangladesh!

Congrats, Leo!

I'd said at the start of the series that the Aussie batting ability against the Bangladeshi spinners would be key.

That's a no-brainer actually, considering they've consistently struggled with the bat in the sub-continent.

Wasn't Handscomb supposed to have good technique against spin?

What Australia will wonder about is how they just fell away today.

266 wasn't going to be easy, given the wicket - but they had done a pretty good job yesterday and would have felt better today about chasing this target.

What a match for Shakib! A ten-fer to go with this 84. Almost a Moeen-like performance. :-)

Strong 1987 deja vu feeling. :-)

World Cup 1987 was jointly hosted by India-Pakistan.

The semi-final draw was Pak vs Aus, India vs Eng.

We were all hopeful - and many were very confident - it would be an India-Pak final.

In those days, Australia was a poor side, and England didn't have much of an ODI record either.

India was defending champion and had won the World Series Cricket (Rothmans Trophy, I think it was called then) in 1985. Spirits were high.

It all came crashing down.

First Pakistan lost to Australia. That was a massive shock. Pak was clear favourites.

We in India were happy because we dreaded meeting Pakistan in the final.

We thought Australia had done us a big favour.

The very next day, while we were all mentally preparing for India-Australia final, India went crashing out to England.

The two favourites gone, it became an England-Australia final.

30 years later, we see England losing to West Indies and Australia losing the very next day to Bangladesh.

Brought back memories.

I do not think BD can beat stronger team like India,england or NZ,Aus in other than Bangladesh.I even doubt Bangladesh ever beat India in BD in test, yes they beat India in ODI in BD

BD rarely going out to play tests in the other country.Recently were beaten in NZ after posting 595.Good luck bangers for Southafrica's test tour.

Bangladesh will play two test matches in Southfrica in Sep.and before Oct 11.i can tell you results will be same

NZ vs bangers in NZ --NZ won 2/0
SA vs Bangers in SA --SA will win 2/0.

I am more interested in AFG vs Zim.
Test series other than in Zimbabwe.

So Far 10 win in test by bangers since 2000.

One each : SL /ENG/AUS
Five each : Zimbabwe :lolup:
Two each :Westindies
==
In what turned out to be an exciting 24 hours of Test match cricket, Bangladesh made history with a 20-run win over Australia in Mirpur, barely hours after West Indies pulled off a heist against England in Leeds. Starting the day at 109 for two - needing 156 more, Australia began well, scoring 61 during the first hour without losing a wicket.
===
David Warner scored his 19th Test hundred, but once he was dismissed, Australia lost their next five within a space of 41 runs. Pat Cummins tried to pull off an unlikely victory with an unbeaten 33 but he ran out of partners at the other end. Shakib Al Hasan was declared Man of the Match for his all-round efforts of 84 in the first innings followed by his 10 for 153 in the match.
==
Stats highlights from Bangladesh's historic win in Mirpur:
==
10 This was Bangladesh's tenth win in 101 Test matches that they have featured in. They have beaten Zimbabwe five times, West Indies twice, England and Sri Lanka once each before. This was their first Test win against Australia after losing all four of their previous encounters against them, three by an innings.

Hazlewood was injured and is out for the rest of the series. This is the only reason selection changes are being considered for team balance.
