Watching this live on tv. Impressed by this ground for test cricket. The outfield is lush green, lovely sightseeing sights encompassing it including the Indian ocean and a man made buddhist temple like terracing up a hill face (or military wall armaments), green banks for fans as well as nice gazebo seating, as well as covered stands, and modern drsssing/members/media buildings with aircon and presumably corporate booths. Max crowd capacity would not be that high, but a very very nice cricket ground. Well done SL.

It looks gorgeous, modern and comfortable. It really is stunning ground.

This minnow flogging will I guess stave off his critics for a time?

Probably, at the very least it ought to put him above Mukund in the back-up ranks.

BCCI minnow-bashing going very well.
Would love to see them get 282/2 in England on a wicket helping swing.

Oh, what the heck, let me not whine about them all the time!

Well done, Dhawan! Considering you were not even picked for this tour (and came in only as a replacement for the injured Vijay), this is a fitting reply to those who doubted your credentials.

And when did Pujara's average get back into the 50s? I seem to have missed that. I know he had a good home season but I thought he was still in the 49 league (aka Mahela/Inzy/Mead league).

Kohli and the short ball, well well well.

Apparently the West Indies gave it to him with success last year after his 200 and he did not score big again.

Did Kohli get lucky in Australia not bowling firey stuff with the Indian tour commencing late due and straight after the Phil Hughes tragedy? Apparently Mitch sconned him in the first test, and Australia were more jittery as a result than India and Kohli.

Kohli has just 49 runs in his last six innings at average 8.16. Expect to see a lot more short pitch bowling being thrown at him.

This looks like a 650 pitch, especially against this attack.
Dhawan had a terrific chance of getting a triple today.

Dhawan was dropped on 31 or so in the first innings.
Would be a poor Test for him if not for that drop.

To his credit, he made the most of it on a flat wicket.

Yet to see a Dhawan innings where he's got to 40 without being dropped.

Almost every Sachin century was after getting at least one life early on.
I once even posted here, giving details of each of those hundreds and at what scores he got lives.

I went through every Almanack report on cricinfo for each Test that Sachin got a 100 in.
His innings would invariably be referred to - and there would be some mention of a chance given or a run-out chance. :-)
I made a list of them all - and posted here.

But it was a while ago - am not sure when.

And now we don't even have those Almanack pages in this new cricinfo interface, right? :(

Congrats, GS, Misty and others.
That was as easy as they come.
Maybe Kohli should have batted a couple of sessions more. :-)
