Cummins ball didnt spin :wall:
SOK got 12 wickets on a rank turner - this isnt

SOK and Lyon may do ok on day 5 ...if they get to day 5 with a lead

WTF : Cummins ball didn't spin? :lmao: it pitched on leg and hit off.

I rate Wade in the tail as he contributes about as many. Outdid himself today. SOK, Haz and Lyon..heaps of runs expected fom that lot on rank turning Indian decks. I love the bawling yellow man.

Good to see Maxi get a hundred.
I hope Smith can go on and take Australia to 550 at least.

Need to make BCCI toil in the field AND sweat while batting.

True, but irrelevant is a tad too strongly worded, non-determinitive or non sufficient is more accurate.

raja wrote: And about one being superior to the other, it's well-known Test cricket is the TRUE test of all dimensions of a cricketer.
That's why it's called TEST cricket.
It tests both batsmen and bowlers over a 5-day period.

Not true. Journalists coined the term in the 1860's Aus vs Eng for what could have easily been called trial matches to test or trial (coulda named it AAAA or Emirates Cabin Class - better than first class) who was better in the 2 innings fc cricket FORMAT. Test status matches have been timeless and as short as 3 days if not shorter. The coining of the name was well before international limited overs cricket. Its name is an accident of birth and not indicative of being a true test of all dimensions (heck - without a focus on run rate pressure its "tests" different dimensions) as against limited overs. Its just different - but believed to be more prestigious by many players, past and present. ***** British sports also used the term test for rugby, rugby league and netball internationals. The icc regulates test status, as part of its monopoly on the business of international cricket. Tell anyone world series cricket was not of a high level!

All competitive sport tests and trials player's skill. "There's no I in team" is more informative than "thats why they call it test cricket". I'd love to watch a trial match and have a commentator say - 'thats why they call it trial cricket/rugby/league".

raja wrote:[T20 is fun too - I don't want to run it down.

It's good to have a mix of different formats - to suit different moods.

Like different genres of music or films.

Do you prefer young Elvis, movie Elvis or Las Vegas Elvis?

***** this is why I believe Crowe had the 2 innings format in cricket max as the 2 innings aspect means less upsets of weaker teams beating strongervteams as seen in 50 over and t20 due to lucky bowling or batting and vice versa.

Paddles, if you take every word here very seriously, I'll have to watch every word I type.
And I don't - I just type casually, with the main intention of having fun.
Especially with regard to GS.
He and I have this badgering going on for years now.

He keeps playing up T20 cricket and knocking down Test cricket.
In retaliation, I say good things about Tests.
It is in this context that I said "it's well-known Test cricket is the TRUE test of all dimensions of a cricketer. That's why it's called TEST cricket."
Even I'm not so stupid as to believe in something just because of its name.

Similarly, I keep bashing BCCI and Sachin Tendulkar knowing that more often than not GS (diehard BCCI and Sachin supporter) will take the bait. :-)

So you said, History, whats it got to do with this match? Different side, different pitch, different Stadium. Yes India could go on and get 600 in reply, doesn't automatically mean they will, time will tell.

What foot marks on leg stump? Do you actually understand what a leg stump is or what turn means. What you are claiming is the ball pitched outside of off, as it was a left Arm Spin bowler bowling around the wkt, that means the ball if it didn't turn would have had to pitch 6 inches outside the Off stump to hit the off, any ball pitching on the wkts (and this ball certainly did) would "have" to turn to hit off due to the angle it was bowled from, it's basic phisics.

Jadeja is only straightening it. its not unplayable turn. You make it sound like Cummins got an unplayable delivery.

451.
Expected more.

Needed to completely demoralise BCCI.
This is a good score, but not quite what I was hoping for.

Well raja runs on the board. We always expect more but several in this side continue to come up short. Smithy can not do it on his own all the time..had terrific assistance from Maxwell and Renshaw. That is two of the top six.

So Smithy's unconquered 170 odd was not impressive in your eyes? Jadeja knows these conditions like he knows his sister.. they are like a distant cousin to Smith. Still he continues to deny the Indian spinners. I say hats off to both..

Just disappointed that the tail didn't wag enough.
Another 50 at least would've been nice.

Anyway, hoping for a BCCI collapse.
Already well into the second over and no wicket has fallen. :(

one more on Jadeja, he bowled 49 and a half overs for f**ks sake!
and he effected a run out at the end

it cannot be underestimated how much he brings to this Indian team - especially with Kohli off the field

Jadeja is a classy cricketer oozing talent. He may be picked for his bowling but I enjoy his fielding and batting. Great beard too.

Finn is a 6/7 beanpole. Cummins is shorter and thicker set. Sorry raja nothing alike. Nor in speed. Gotta tell you it is good to see Pat with a shiny new cherry in his hand hurling down 150kph thunderbolts once again.

Just cos the Aussie captain is still unable to grow facial hair.

I jest. I understand that Jadeja is of warrior tribe people. He probably feels more than tall enough with a sword or knife in his hand or even unarmed altogether.

But Jadeja has a great beard. This current BCCI team is noticably rocking a lot of facial hair.

Just cos the Aussie captain is still unable to grow facial hair.

I jest. I understand that Jadeja is of warrior tribe people. He probably feels more than tall enough with a sword or knife in his hand or even unarmed altogether.

But Jadeja has a great beard. This current BCCI team is noticably rocking a lot of facial hair.

beards seem to be in in India lately

Dunno where a wicket is going to come from for Australia
India seem to be in total control here. At very least a draw is needed to regroup for the 4th

Rahul out for 61
Bouncer gets him.

91 for 1
I think Kohli not in condition to bats today, he walks in dressing room without pads on.

Misty, you are back to your old ways again. Don't thread crap here. We don't understand what you are saying most of the times. Write complete sentences that makes sense. Keep it simple and short. Don't get yourself banned. Thanks.

From the Current update of the Match the 2nd Days Stumps and India Need to Make 331 More Runs to Reach Australia’s Big Total of 451 Run in 1st Innings. From Current Update at the End of the Day India are 120/1.

Australian Captain Steven Smith and Glenn Maxwell Contribute their team with World Class Hundred that why Australia 400+ Runs after losing 3 Early Wickets under 100 Runs.

Just a few stats on Smiths epic ton...and epic it was. Batted 500+ minutes facing some 360 balls. Left the field unconquered without giving a chance because the Indians could not find a way to extricate him. An astounding display of mental stamina and technique. Yet some, inexplicably still call Kohli the world's best batsman. You are having me on. Just remind me how many runs Kohli has scored this series? Did I hear you say 40.. a miserable 40 runs across 4 innings in conditions he should know like his best friend.

Looks like Pat Cummins may have discovered the secret to being top class Fast Bowler, remove the top part of the middle finger. :fucku:

What you are claiming is the ball pitched outside of off, as it was a left Arm Spin bowler bowling around the wkt, that means the ball if it didn't turn would have had to pitch 6 inches outside the Off stump to hit the off, any ball pitching on the wkts (and this ball certainly did) would "have" to turn to hit off due to the angle it was bowled from, it's basic phisics.

Jadeja is only straightening it. its not unplayable turn. You make it sound like Cummins got an unplayable delivery.

It was the perfect L/H bowlers delivery, a top class batsman may have kept it out, but expecting a bowler to keep it out, is ridiculous.

Cummins and Hazlewood have to strike early to retake the reins of this match.
