The three day warm up match finishes in a tame draw. As I see it Australia would be no closer to finalising its bowling or batting lineups. The BCCI managed to hoodwink our gullible brains trust yet again and produce a belter for batting. There was no spin challenge for our batsmen. I should imagine the baggy greens would be feeling rather flat at the moment. CA will be scratching its collective head.

The 3 day warm up match finished and the result was draw. India will not play with their Best Team and non of their Top Class batsman and bowler are available in the match... India Will win the Test Match Series from Australia because India improve their batting and bowling area..

Poor preparation for Australia. That pitch will in no way resemble the one BCCI has prepared for the Test. Australia are notoriously poor players of spin because not sufficient importance is placed on it during a cricketers formative years.

Plans by Cricket Aust. to build sub continental like decks thruout our land could in some way address our poor showing in Indian series. The best of our U15/16 players now tour and play in local Asian competitions. Another positive step.

Poor preparation by Australia or sabotage by the hosts?
More likely the latter, however CA have only themselves to blame for being so naive after so many times they've been fooled.

When's this shit start anyway?

The torture starts Thursday. No Aussie broadcaster thinks it worthy of covering. CA and Nine are not only naive but greedy.

BCCI and rights holders make it very expensive to purchase broadcasts these days.

doesnt look like it'll be on Fox either

total blackout. BCCI asking too much again and no one sees it

Foxtel is Australia's prime pay television channel. Owned by our communication co Telstra and Murdocks News Co. Fox Sports is a channel of Foxtel. They are not covering it live. Not sure what Google is saying?

Hell if they want a reason for saying Test cricket is dying point the finger at the BCCI. Guess what people Fox is taking the IPL coverage this year. Why does that not surprise me.

I can not believe that Aussie selectors are proposing to play three spinners in the First Test. Five would not help. Indians go from the cradle to the cricket field. What we do need is pace and accurate pace. So what is CA contemplating dropping Hazlewood and Bird our only bowlers capable of containing Kohli and co. and replacing him with a back up seamer/ hit the deck man with a @37 average in MMarsh and an additional spinner.

Where did you see that Mick? Nothing on any cricket website.
There is not even a Channel 507. BCCI has caved in or is it Fox? I am not that sure I am pleased. Torture watching us lose. :crybaby:

There is something in that. Rather than trying to be better at what Indian is best at when touring India, instead try to bring to India weapons that they've never had the experience of dealing with when growing up playing cricket, fast swing bowling..... and boycott style attritional defensive play :D

There is something in that also...specially the Boycott like attrition. Never say die.. put a steep price on your wicket. Then attack when your man is down.

I can tell you that this current Australian side has one..and one only, such player. Steven Devereux Smith. Is one sufficient? No we need at least another two Smithys.

Matt Renshaw has the potential to be another. SMarsh can hang around if he survives the first 30/40 balls. Khawaja could have done it but he will be drink's waiter.

I've found that BT Sport (which is not part of my current Sky package) is carrying a lot of Australian cricket and other non-England games.

£27.99 a month though.... my entire Sky package (something like 700 other channels) plus landline and internet, is something like £80-£90 a month.

Worth it? Hmmm

Oh tell me about it. But that's the basic package plus the movies package and sports package (goes from channel 101 to 998 so I was estimating). So about a pound a channel, so why pay 27 more pounds for four more channels

I believe Boycott played in the first ever ODI game, receives the first ever ball bowled in an ODI and was the first ever batsman to lose his wicket in an ODI. 8 from 37 balls.... but then England only managed about 190 from 40 overs, it was a different era

For 1971 in the first ever ODI? For an opener? It's not that dreadful.

I imagine failures in early matches always looked bad because you took time to bed in. Take 30 balls to reach 10 then accelerate to make 35 off 42 balls that's not hideous, but get out just as you're set and suddenly you've only made 10 at a 30.00 SR.

Early rotation of strike was yet to come into the game

8 ball overs guys, so it's not great. Boycott 8 from 37, quick for Boycott who once got dropped after making 246no for scoring to slowly.

T20 has improved batting out of sight, its so hard bowling 2nd in any limited overs game now.

Nightmare pitch coming apparently, Aussies look like playing Swepson along aside Lyon and O'Keefe.

They played 40 overs back then Boycs30?
I would like to see the ODI of today reduced to 40overs. I understand the 40 over ODD is played in England. How does that go?

ODIs have been set to be played over 45,50,55,60 6 ball overs and 40 8 ball overs.
Of course this doesn't include matches affected by weather conditions on the day*

According to our Australian member verity, we need at least 6 member to play, but anyway I post my xl at toss time. (KOHLI HINTS in press conference about nature of wicket starting on day 2, probably MM Could left out.)

CA are panic merchants. ..pitch cracking up, baked dry.. so pick three spinners. India will take in three spinners because the pitch has been doctored for them.. game lost before a ball bowled. Our only chance is play three quicks and hope ball reverses.

No surprises that Warne wants Swepson in the First Test. Both are leg spinners after all. He has also called for the oh so inconsistent Maxwell to play and provide some part time offies. Again not surprising as both are Victorians. Warne bias never.

Nightmare pitch coming apparently, Aussies look like playing Swepson along aside Lyon and O'Keefe.

CA are panic merchants. ..pitch cracking up, baked dry.. so pick three spinners. India will take in three spinners because the pitch has been doctored for them.. game lost before a ball bowled. Our only chance is play three quicks and hope ball reverses.

Your probably right, we don't have quality in the spin ranks but I am looking forward to see Swepson bowl.

According to our Australian member verity, we need at least 6 member to play, but anyway I post my xl at toss time. (KOHLI HINTS in press conference about nature of wicket starting on day 2, probably MM Could left out.)

I stopped doing it because it was obvious interest had died, but if interest is there again great because I enjoy it.

Khawaja should not have been picked. Performance guru Pat Howard said Cricket Australia would be using a horses-for- courses policy for this tour. In other words only those batsmen with even a modicum of ability playing spin would be considered. What a joke. Only Steve Smith and Peter Handscomb look comfortable against spin. That is two out of the top six.

Aussies must win the toss and bat and build a big total before this track deteriorates. Then they have a small chance to put some pressure on the Indians. Remember Starc and Hazlewood have been the most successful frontline Test attack in world cricket over the last 12 months. If they can adapt to the conditions no reason why they can not continue that prosperous partnership.

Smithy says he has never seen an Indian pitch like this. The warning bells are ringing. This could be a disaster even if Australia bat first.

It is quite negative to say things like this. Hoping Maxwell gets a game

Ravi Shastri with his pitch report 'I've never seen a pitch like this in India.I have seen turning tracks but never like this" Oh hell and that is coming from an Indian.

Some good news Smithy won the toss. We are getting first use of the track before it cracks like an egg shell under a hammer.

Aussie X1. Warner, Renshaw, Smith (c), S Marsh, Handscomb, M Marsh, Wade, Starc, Hazlewood, SOS, Lyon. Solid batting lineup until we come to #6 with the brittle MMarsh. Like that they did not break up Starc/Hazlewood partnership.

2 Marshes in the team they will be having fits over at WP Baggers, can't be bothered checking.

Compare the spin attacks. Ashwin (worlds best), Jadeja, Yadav to Lyon, SOK, Smith.

How many overs before spin is used from both ends? I am tipping within the first hour.
