I don't really know why Handscomb has even been picked in the ODI setup, should have been kept in shield cricket in the lead up to India.

I wish his current form (ODI) not effects him for his current test forms in India.

His always been shit in List A cricket so he didn't even deserve selection. Selectors are dumb.

Great series - long may it continue if only Aussie touring NZ each year. The Aussie cricket team fight tooth and nail and it can only improve NZ's ability to toughen out more wins when playing weaker nations.

Acid test for NZ team at home to guage current team's abbilities is Safrica and that starts Feb 17. NZ typically folds to Safrica more than we do to Australia.

Why send our best bowlers if we are going to send a 2nd rate batting lineup, makes no sense.

Safrica often just crush the NZC team. Against Aus in NZ - there is more fan support for NZ. But Safrica has less fan interest and often just steam roll us - in SA or in NZ, in odi and test formats.

Aus may beat us here - but the team typically fights better against Aus is the point I'm making.

Yes as far as I know Australia will tours NZ every year for Chappell /Hadlee cup for Long time.

Not sure on this. Next year Aus Eng and NZ are playing a t20 3 way tournament instead of Chappel Hadlee. Aus cricket fans are fast becomming t20 fans. That said - this tournament with Aus and Barmy Army is great for many NZC fans - so there is an upside. Just need more bill paying BCCI tours as well as the popular England and Aus tours. To be fair - India sells tickets as well.

far too many all rounders in that line-up today

at least we can say Stoinis is a find of the 'series', so not a complete waste of time

And that still qualifies as a series. But at 2-0 - a si ngle rained out game did not cost either team the series.

Actually there's potential in a mini-Ashes like series between NZ and Australia.

Play a 3-Test, if not 5-Test, series every 2 years, with alternating visits.

Shouldn't be too difficult to organise.

Call it the Antipodes Cup or whatever. :-)

What makes this interesting is that playing conditions in Aus and NZ are very different from each other, even if they are neighbouring countries.

Tasmania is a bit like NZ but the rest of Australia is a completely different climate and soil composition
most of NZ is volcanic

Aussies really dont care about series with NZ. Its the biggest event for Kiwis a one day series with Australia, but not a commercial seller here
CA bases its program around commercial considerations

Just like many of the neutrals here also could not care less about this series, but they may tune in for Australia vs RSA or India or England
