Man. I hate monotonous series.

Liking Latham keeping. Helps with team balance while no Cory Anderson. Like Broom at 5 for now. Munro needs to cash in with Blundell and Bruce and Anderson (batting only) still in the mix.

Really disapointed with the crowd size. Best team in the world visit, closest neighbour, biggest sporting rival on a regional holiday.

Apparently the Australian selectors don't want Maxwell bowling anymore, just become a batsmen is the message to him.

Munro isnt really an allrounder. Latham keeping keeps Munro in team ahead of Bruce and Anderson (injured and not bowling) and allrounder De Grandhomme. With no Latham keeping - Blundell takes Munro's spot.

Yes otherwise he really struggle,i think Bharat Popli should give chance at least once who had 61 average in FC.
Popli is in a list of players who are eyeing up Nicholls spot.

Could be wrong but I suspect only Safrica visit NZ and win the 50 over stuff in recent timed. Unsure about England tho.

RSA are regular NZ tourists. They typically visit and thrash us. We play better against Aus in NZ for the 50 over stuff with crowd support.

Khwaja and Zampa dropped long ago?
Warner - doesn't score in NZ - crowd gets on him no end
Smith is a loss.
Finch and Marsh played plenty for Aus. Stoinis has been your best so far besides -didn't he take M Marsh's spot?
The rookies have beaten out George Bailey and co. Head, Handscombe and Maxwell are past Aus A now. Starc, Faukner, Cummins and Hazlewood are well established selector's favourites. I still prefer Pattinson to Cummins myself tho.

No Ronchi, C Anderson or Milne for NZ. Players miss games with busy schedules - just how it is.
No - there's not enough games, fans nor money for a intl cricket oval in Auckland.
When you guys going to play on proper cricket grounds instead of those massive AFL stadiums?

Built for Australian cricket. Not English, West Indian, Indian or NZ cricket. Part of cricket's charm - only the circle and the pitch dimensions are universal ground to ground.

Its not ideal. But its the biggest stadium in Auckland and Aus visiting for 50 overs is the biggest drawcard in NZC between a world cup once every 23 years or so. Aus and NZ crowds both this year have been poor. I worry for BBL impact on non-Ashes tours in Aus.

Eden Park only gets a few tests. Has to be a big drawcard team like England or India though. Players and fans alike are not keen on empty stadiums - esp non oval ones. Basin in Wngtn is the premium nz test venue and Chch Lincoln Oval is on the rise.

I'm terrible at picking players for IIHAG.
For this series I was just about to pick Neesham. At the last moment, I switched to de Grandhomme.
Who's the better allrounder you think? For each format?
Of course, de Grandhomme has just started his career but he's made quite an impression already.

Dunedin? Sure you don't mean Chch? I meant Hagley Oval in Chch not Lincoln Oval in Dunedin. They're great grounds for test cricket but have small crowd capacity for an Aus 50 over tour. Matching the stadiums to the tickets sold is becomming a thing in NZC most evident with odi's against Aus or Eng played at Wngtn Stadium and not Basin.

And oh, welcome back, Paddles. :-)
Have you changed your opinion of Ben Stokes?
I remember you really laid into him a while ago when we were discussing allrounders. :-)
Since then, he's really stepped up a couple of notches, hasn't he?
Or do you think he's still highly overrated? :-)

I like Basin and that ground in Dunedin
Dunedin? Sure you don't mean Chch? I meant Hagley Oval in Chch not Lincoln Oval in Dunedin. They're great grounds for test cricket but have small crowd capacity for an Aus 50 over tour. Matching the stadiums to the tickets sold is becomming a thing in NZC most evident with odi's against Aus or Eng played at Wngtn Stadium and not Basin.
no I mean Dunedin

Have you changed your opinion of Ben Stokes?
I remember you really laid into him a while ago when we were discussing allrounders. :-)
Since then, he's really stepped up a couple of notches, hasn't he?
Or do you think he's still highly overrated? :-)

Mitch Marsh would be sitting at home watching his international career disappear before his eyes
