Great double century by Kohli. Classy!
Time to play real cricket instead of tuktuk game. They must score faster now and declare. Play for the team but not for personal milestones

They probably could have declared 50 runs earlier

No need to, I think. On a really good pitch you want to take advantage of the conditions. Look at it like this: on this pitch, you'd have to expect to bat again regardless, ie NZ will break 500 runs total in both innings. When would you rather score those extra 50 runs; now, when the pitch is flat and the bowlers are tired, or in a couple of days, when the pitch is maybe cracking a bit and the bowlers have had a break?

Latham has had a good series yet another half century. He'll be disappointed I'm sure not to have a hundred in there somewhere but when contrasted to how the rest of his team have faired I think he should be pleased with his efforts.

Wow never seen two batsmen run out in the same innings off bowler's hands/fingers at non-striker's end. Ashwin got Guptill like this earlier and now Patel gone off Ashwin too. Ashwin dropped the catch and ball went on to his stumps with bat still in the air.

294-9

I'm trying to think of a team that could crack India at home at the moment and I can't think of one. Though Pakistan would gave favourable conditions do they have the batsmen? Only 2.5 really sharp players and two of them are getting on a bit....

I thought that, with a fit AB. Amla is a class player of spin, and basically every other kind of bowling.

JP seems like he's going to be allowed extended chances all the way to 100 Tests!

That's stupid. They get rest at night. You need to hit the iron when it's hot. If not what's point of having followon rules? ICC should abolish it?

I don't think you can expect to win best of four in India without a really good spinner, and I don't think any of SA's spinners are quite there at test level. Maybe they could aim to get lucky on the bad pitches and shoot for draws on the roads?

I agree that Pakistan could easily beat India in India, though. I think India's batting lineup is actually pretty weak. A lot would depend on how they handle Ashwin since they wouldn't have really been exposed to him.

We lost that test lol. It was the one where the top scorer in both Australian innings was Peter Siddle batting at 9, and the test when Glenn Effing Maxwell opened the batting AND the bowling.

The last test I remember Lyon actually winning was in Adelaide against India a couple of years ago. He's always a useful contributor and I have lots of respect for him, but he isn't going to go out there and crush teams solo like Ashwin does.

Murali was a good bowler with an anatomical querk that helped him become a prolific wicket taker, Warne was a great bowler and great thinker when it came to bowling.

Both good but I'd rather face murali than Warne
