Re: Movies You've Watched (Part II)
I watched Karate Kid over the weekend. Although I wasn't too keen to watch a remake of one of my childhood classics, it ended up being rather decent.
A fun movie to watch. Will Smith's kid is a good actor. Jackie Chan does a serious role quite well surprisingly. I expected him to muff things up, but he handled Miyagi's role rather well.

but i felt that they went over the top with the kiddie romance part!

It's not meant to be an oscar award winning movie. It's all in good fun

I wanted to see Karate Kid too, but I can't bring myself to do it, better to wait for the DVD on Netflix.

Saw Toy Story 3 on 3D IMAX few days ago. Thought it was quite good. Well it's a toy story movie made by Pixar so there is no way it was gonna be bad
.
Weird that I was like 10 or 11 when Toy story 2 came out, its been a long, long wait in between movies. I don't know if the movie is worth seeing in 3D though, I think 2D probably would have been fine.

I want to watch Toy Story 3... Although this weekend is reserved for Inception. People that have seen it in pre-screenings have said it is an amazing movie!

Inception was awesome. I am really astounded that Christopher Nolan was able to convert a story as complicated as he had to narrate into a simple, fast paced movie. The visuals are amazing.
The entire movie is amazing. I won't spoil it for anyone by discussing the story, but do watch the movie at a theatre with good sound.

Inception = another film with a pathetic storyline but which people are taken in by the effects / technology.
Just like Avatar it represents the dumbing down of the film industry.

People can't like a movie for what it is? Not every movie needs to be a "classic" to be good.
Going to watch Changeling tonight, I'll let you know.

No, I agree.
My issue was people suggested Avatar and Inception are great films when they are not. They are impressive technically and not bad in other areas but they are not great or even very good films.

I watched Love, Sex aur Dhokha... Superb movie. Highly recommended. It's not a light movie btw... but a rather thought provoking one.
The movie is filmed like those digicam, hand cam style - so it could take a little getting used to.

Watched Changeling finally last night. Pretty good.
Saw Inception today (after I found out that Hyundai "planted" a Genesis Sedan in it). I thought it was pretty good. No complaints. The hotel fight scene was the best part.

Watched "Moon" http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/10009075-moon/
Good engrossing plot, ending was a little half baked. But overall a good movie for sci fi fans.

Watched the Green Hornet. Seth Rogen and the chinese guy were very funny... but the movie felt a bit flat.

Re: Movies You've Watched (Part II)
Watched The Boston Strangler today, starring Tony Curtis as Albert DeSalvo.
Very cleverly put together in multiple screen shots to depict different angles to scenes. It keeps you gripped to the end and then there is a little dialogue about DeSalvos encarceration etc.
I then decided to google him and find out more, and it turns out the film is a work of fiction and alot is made up. Poetic licence is one thing, but why make a movie about a known event, and just make it up?
Bloody Hollywood.

Saving Private Ryan is very good. One of my favourites too.
Then there "All Quiet on the Western Front", a movie of 1930 about the First World War.
You guys may not be interested in such an old movie but it really left an impression on me.

It took me at least 4 year to commit my self to watch Saving Private Ryan(last Time i tried it during the 2007 cricket world cup but i was too drunk to continue watching after the first scene)
but i have to say is really a must to watch if like war movies.
another one that i can recommend is Black Hawk Down(really awesome and as it is based on a true story u can have the feel of how the things happened at that moment)
also the Black Hawk crashing scene has superb sound effects if u watch it on 5.1 sound system.

Guns of Navarone is great.
Yeah, I've passed on the latest Harry Potter to wait until the last one is out to watch them at the same time. But, they are quite lackluster as compared to the books.

Saw Green Lantern and Transformers 3.
Green Lantern was ok at best kind of a lame ending. Overall not the best script but thought the 1st half of the movie was pretty good.
Transformers 3 was ok. Like always the special effects are awesome. But some of the acting and dialogue is well... :\ . The new chick is hot though just can't act. Not too bothered about that though
.
Also saw Fast five and Thor on DVD. Thought both were pretty good. I reckon Thor is a lesson to DC from Marvel on how to introduce the back story of big heroes. Looking forward to the avengers movie. Fast five was probably the best of the fast and the furious series.

I agree on all these comments having seen them all. Liked transformers most of all these. Greenlatern has scenes lifted from spiderman and superman and is so lame. Thor and fastfive already in DVD? not here in US. HATED that new chick in transformers with ugly lips. I dearly miss my angel megan fox.

Watched Delhi Belly. Was so so. It was hilarious in parts but overall it lacked something. Can't really put my finger on what it is that the movie lacked.
Some of the characters were very funny though. A decent try to make an original movie at last!

Re: Movies You've Watched (Part II)
I watched Pyar ka punchnama .. I found it quite hilarious. Lots of throwbacks to current and past relationships. It's a cute movie based on relationships told from the guys perspective. They could have taken some better known actors though. This scene was pretty damn funny. One of the protagonists rants about his girlfriend in his relationship.
Watched Thank You last night. Not really sure why I even bothered to do so... but it was on Netflix and I couldn't be bothered to search for another movie. It was worse than I expected it to be... and that is after I expected the movie to suck balls.

Watched tanu weds Manu on Roku. Ok. Going to see captain America with daughter this weekend. Did not like Delhi belly one bit, found it stale comedy. Liked Telugu movie key, that has no songs, fights, sentiments. A fresh breeze. A remake of Hollywood movie exam.
