Perhaps the best Bio film ever to come out of Hollywood, lost count of the number of times I've seen it. The post D Day part only makes up about a 3rd of the movie though, much of it is set in North Africa then Scicily. George C Scott even looks like Patton. A much better film than Gregory Pecks Macarthur.

She is likely an Italian model. As these westerns were made by Italians with a Hollywood actor in the lead. Nothing beats the spaghetti western music soundtracks. Love the whistling theme frrom A Fistful of Dollars.

Time to restart this thread.

Here is a rather obscure one. Which actor played Peter Quint in the 1960 gothic classic The Innocents.

Hint. He played a badly dressed, perm haired, Zapata moustached private detective in a 70s Brit tv series where he found intrique and willing women in exotic European spots.

Postby Going South » Wed Apr 26, 2017 11:52 am

Yes. I saw it. I saw the new one too.
Liked the BW one much better.

Dennis haysbert: What happened down there?
Actor: You wouldn't believe me if I told you.
Dennis haysbert: Try me.
Actor: Okay, here goes. So I meet Eris (Michelle pfeiffer), the goddess of discord? She's got a major crush on me, and she invited me back to her place.

Guess the actor !!! ;)

I am not very good at guessing actors or movies from quotes. Reason I did not set up a quiz.

What new The Innocents are you talking about. Or are you referring to Turn of the Screw?

These are all versions of the 1960 movie? There have been untold versions of The Turn of the Screw . I have seen them all. There was another variation I saw called Presence of Mind. See if you can watch that. As chilly as The Innocents in my view. Will have a look at those other titles, Some are foreign I see.. Have to sleep now.

I can not remember the last animated movie I saw. Sorry no idea. ;)

You should know my actor. The film I opened the question with was an early one and one for which he got an Oscar.. or was it just a nomination. This guy is a movie legend in some people's eyes. Never took to him myself.. except for one film where he played a crazed caretaker.

At the start of what question? I'm lost. The earliest film i can think of him plaing in is "one flew over the Cuckoos nest" but i can't find the post that you are talking about.

Mine is definetly a western. You should get this easily.

Other than a couple of roles he's not really known for westerns. But his buddy, buddy role was a big Western you would have heard off. But he didn't do a Spaghetti(hint) Western however he does like Spaghetti.

You telling me with that hint that he is Italian? The only western duo I can think of are Italian Bud Spencer & Terrance Hill. They made only spagetti westerns if I am not mistaken.

No i said he didn't do Spaghetti Westerns but he likes Spaghetti, fact is he likes Spaghetti so much he created his own brand of Spahetti sauces, fact is he is a bit of a Cool Hand at it, just ask Luke.
He also had a buddy who as a Kid liked to do a Sun Dance so that Rain drops didn't fall on his head.

LOL love your clever little hints. You said they formed one of the greatest duos in moviedom.. or words to that affect. That is why I reckoned something like the Spencer and Hill partnership. Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid was one movie. Did the two ever act together again? Paul Newman made relishes and pickles didn't he? How was work?

What you wrote there and other times has got me thinking. You should start a thread (MF) using your clever hints/ or a quirky/cryptic version of a movie's synopsis.

They made the Sting together, i thought it was mainly pasta sauce Newman was into. Work is work never changes.
