Dbox

Postby Going South » Sat Mar 21, 2015 10:26 pm

Today I have seen first time a new technology addition to the multiplex near my home.
It's called dbox motion technology.
I have seen it first in Florida United artists attraction where they show 4d technology. I saw shrek4 in 4d where apart from 3d the seats shake and move with scents sprayed based on scene.
Here it's the same seat shakes without scents.
I saw today movie insurgents in 3d with dbox.
2 middle rows of theater are dedicated for dbox and rest all are normal seats
These are priced at $20 per ticket.
They even rock your chair If a machine gun fires or the car jumps over speed bump.

Amazingly great, but we do not have nearby Dbox, CT and Newhempshire far away from my city.

Oh this has been there in NJ for a long time. In sixflags they had this mach-one adventure.. basically you sit in a rocking chair and the screen shows what a pilot would see from his cockpit seat.. (instruments/out of the windshield etc).. you take off, go on a flight over the grand canyon doing crazy turns and such, then hit mach 1 and then land in formation.. there is full airtraffic communication this and that and the seat rocks like it would if you were really in a fighter plane.. of course the movie is not 3d but the feel is about as real as it can get on the ground.. (it spares the G's but still I have seen blokes who were dreamyeyed when they came out of that one).. It was later replaced by a few other things like skydiving, roller coaster etc.. it was good fun.. I took my mom to give her a feel of what it would look like if she were in the driving seat of a figher jet.. she loved it.

Our Technology

So, what kind of magic is there behind these mysterious motion effects?

How it works

Our technology is leading edge, yet simple. After sound and image, D-BOX is the natural evolution of cinema. Much like a movie soundtrack, motion effects or MFX are created frame-by-frame by our Motion Designers in our California Studio creating the unique patented D-BOX Motion Code.

The signal is then sent to our actuators that act like little robots under your seat. Unlike theme park rides, D-BOX is smooth and blends perfectly with the sound and image to make your cinematic experience complete. Its motion is multilevel; it can whisk you as if you were speeding in a car chase or wipe you off gently as if you were by the ocean side.

The result is an unmatched immersive experience: you will feel as if you are part of the onscreen action.

We also supply our motion system to renowned integrators in various sectors: racing and flight simulators, home theatre seating manufacturers, arcades, casinos, industrial, governmental, institutional, museums, etc. The possibilities are endless...
