I tried to watch The Sopranos several times, but there is nothing special about it at all. I have seen 3 episode of season one and nothing makes you to keeping watching.

I have seen Lilyhammer on Netflix. A great show especially if you are living in Scandinavia. It's about a Mafia boss who witness against other Mafia boss and as protection he moves to Lilyhammer Norway. It's about culture clash and immigrants, integration and crime. A crime comedy show.

I tried to swallow the regular soaps kinds but they are too bloody sappy or are too convoluted, like wife has an affair, the hubby has an affair also.. meanwhile the fellers who they are having affair with are already married and the mother in laws somehow know each other.. one mother in law has her doubts about her daughter/son inlaw.. throw in a smattering of kids some young some teens and you got a complete confusion and every body doing their best to over act/react.. makes me puke.

And you guys will laugh.. but I watch a few cooking shows (though I do not take notes).. just to get some ideas..

See my kids are rather fussy eaters.. they are very taste conscious.. daughter does not like bland, son does not like sour.. etc etc.. and so I have to improvise to keep up with their taste.

Which dude? Sallu ?

I don't watch that shit either. Though I have seen it earlier 5 years ago. Waste of time. This is the absolute last desperate effort of the "Celebrities" to earn some money.

Most of them are outdated in whatever they do.

I used to watch that but they have become redundant.. show three things a person needs.. water, food and shelter (and a stick and stone for fire)..

They use this five billion ways.. Oh I found a river.. it is full of clear water but there can be POLUUTANTS.. GRRRR.. lets boil it..

ANd oh I found these little bugs with redish buttocks.. wonder how they taste.. but hey wait.. they have load of proteins.. and aaah.. I had a bath now I feel CLEAN..

I am boiling (or roasting) those red butt bugs.. let me taste it.. hmm.. smack smack.. hmm.. it tastes like a boiled orangutan.. if you don't know how that tastes.. err like chicken but with tad extra salt in it.. anyways quite edible and aaah haaa.. quite filing.. I am quite myself.. I will be home in another 4 kms of trecking if I do not get lost.. let me check those traps I set up for rabbits.. hmm.. none.. but wait there is a porcupine in one of those.. never ate one.. but ok.. will do for dinner..

Bugger is having a load of fun eating weird stuff.. and looking like a unkempt gypsy.. and between shots I bet he is guzzling black label with soda and having lays chips and ketchup.. My frigging arse.. Initially it was novel but it wore out because you know what is next always..

I dunno the rest but south park I tried watching it a couple of times after one of my coworkers used to go ga ga over it.

I could not stand more than a couple of episodes. Actually I did not like the first but thought ok must give it another chance and so did and that sucked too..

:D I agree it gets a little predictable but I still like the idea of survival and I also love watching movies based on these concepts.

The other Bear Grylls show is a bit too "hardcore", don;t like the idea of a man drinking his own piss. :puke:

Re: Series

Postby GpeL » Thu Dec 11, 2014 8:53 pm

That guy is another ass.. he does things that are so stupid and claims it to be smart.. for example, in one of his "survivor" thingy, he is "stranded" in the ocean.. and with just one empty bottle, one bottle about half full with gues what whiskey and some platic "sheet", some ropes, a match and a water bottle.. Now he has to reach land and ofcourse he has a camera with unlimited battery power..

In there, he shows... "see that shark.. it is circling the life raft".. now I should not put my hand in or it will pull me in.. (and guess what the next program to come is swimming with sharks and I am going to buy his if I put my hand in it is gonna bite me shit).. and then he decides he has to catch fish.. so he can eat.. so what he does, he takes a stick.. ties a rope and puts a bait (dont ask where he got it.. may be he had it stuck up his nose).. and viola he has a fish./

Now he starts describing the fish.. its breed, its mating habits and all that to waste a good 10 minutes.. next he has to cut/clean it.. oh he had a bottle.. so he takes the bottle empties it (it had rum).. and breaks it and uses it as a knife to clean the fish.. he then uses other pieces of glass to light a fire in a small piece of tin sheet using the glass as a hand lens.. (yup yup in the middle of the ocean and I am buying it).. and sorta cooks the fish and eats it.. and lookie there.. there is a ship.. so he takes his shirt and waves and waves.. wait.. there is this shark.. what to do about it.. oh it is real close.. and he touches it.. like pets it.. see they are harmless.. I am not sure if I should be confused or he should be.. that guy is totally bonkers.

Well I don't watch a lot of non-Sports TV anyway. The rest of the time my wife has the TV on HGTV, TLC or Law and Order (on one of 72 channels.)

South Park? Someone mentioned South Park the other day and I had no idea they were still making new episodes. That show is funny when you are a high school student.

My best supernatural Tv series has to be Rod Serling's iconic Twilight Zone. I grew up watching this fascinating series. Other series with an occult theme would be Karloff's The Veil and Thriller. Serling's later Night Gallery also provided some more modern chills. Anyone know of any others?

The best of them all Baggers.... Darren McGavin in "The Night Stalker" including the TV movies.... it was the basis for the X-files, and they even remade the series later.
