should be 2 reviews per team in ODIs

there's still 10 wickets I don't see why there's only 1

if the umpire wasn't enough, India had to play without 2 of their first choice players

expect India to come back hard in the next 2 matches

Why do India have 3 stars above their logo when they've only won the world cup twice?

Australia has won it 4 times and has no stars

India looked all at sea against accurate bowling.

Take away Rohit Sharma's innings and India scores a small total.

Dhoni looks totally out of form dotballing his way to 50.
Kohli caught at shortish leg again.

whilst there were mitigating circumstances for the BCCI's loss and it was a far from convincing performance by the CA XI... one positive to come out is certainly Jhye Richardson's form. He looks a good prospect and could press for a test place if not just a world cup berth.

Congratulations, Australia and Aussies here.
Good start to the series.
At least now we can say that BCCI has tasted defeat in all the formats on this tour.

Was impressed by Behrendorff and Jhye Richardson today.
Having the mighty BCCI at 3 down with just 4 on the board was fantastic.

BCCI missed Kedar Jadhav in the side.
Rayudu continues to be rubbish.
Dinesh Karthik too.

Dhoni once again showed he is past it.
I don't know why he is STILL hanging around there.
I can understand if there was no option - but we have Pant, so why is Dhoni still blocking that spot?

aus took the game away from india in last 5 over of aus batting innings, when you have wickets in hand you go for big shot.Batting first at sydney we scored 600 plus 3 times

Australian vs India ODIs

Postby Going South » Sat Jan 12, 2019 5:09 pm

BCCI is again a one man show team, where always “only” one man performs in a team game.

That’s a huge slap on face on their limited overs skills esp with worldcup around corner.

Wake up BCCI. SIGH!!

vijay Shankar and Shubham Gill (nz only) in indian team for Australia ODI (2)

https://m.cricbuzz.com/cricket-news/106 ... -nz-series

Vijay Shankar, Shubman Gill named replacements for Pandya, Rahul

Shubman Gill will be part of the squad only for the New Zealand series.

India have roped in Shubman Gill and Vijay Shankar to replace KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya for the ongoing ODI series in Australia as well as the limited-overs series in New Zealand that follows. While Gill will join the squad only for the New Zealand tour that comprises of five ODIs and three T20Is, Vijay will be joining the team ahead of the second ODI of the ongoing series against Australia.

Pandya and Rahul, who were part of the initial squad to Australia, were sent back home after BCCI took an objection to the comments they made on a chat show on TV. The duo have been given seven days to explain why proceedings shouldn't be initiated against them for misconduct and indiscipline under Rule 41 of the BCCI Constitution.

19-year-old Gill will return to New Zealand where he was named the player of the tournament during India's successful U-19 World Cup campaign last year. Post the tournament, he has had a rapid rise that saw him make runs for India A and for Punjab in the domestic circuit. Gill also managed to bag an IPL contract for the first time when he was picked up by Kolkata Knight Riders and the fruitful 12-month period has culminated in a maiden callup to the senior side.

Vijay on the other hand, has already represented India five times in the T20 format when he was picked to play in the Nidahas Trophy. He is widely viewed by the selectors as the backup pace bowling allrounder and had a good outing in New Zealand recently during the A tour.

Hangover from test series win celebrations effected performance next match ?

They got too many days off from 1st two days of batting that too only pujara played, all others are super-rusty esp in batting.

Unless Dinesh Karthik is keeping wickets, no point in playing him.
Rayudu too is rubbish now.

Can't believe BCCI doesn't have two better players than these guys.

Should have picked Manish Pandey for this tour instead of these guys.
Batting average of 36.92 and a batting SR of 91.85.
http://www.espncricinfo.com/india/conte ... 90630.html

And he's an outstanding fielder.
Will save you 15-20 runs in the field.
If you compare that with the runs Rayudu will leak in the field, we're talking of a 30-4- run differential. :-)

Or pick Ankit Bawne.
Or pick anyone.
Even GS or bolero.
Just kick out Rayudu.
He's a liability in this side.
Can't bat, can't bowl, can't field.

In this day and age, I expect at least 5 of the top 7 batsmen in an ODI side to be able to score at a 150+ SR.
(Ideally all of them).

Of these at least 2 should be 200+ material.

And I don't mean guys like Dinesh Karthik who score 21 off 9.

BCCI misses someone like Yuvi in the middle order.

Right now they have Rohit and Kohli who are quality batsmen.
Dhawan is unreliable.
Hardik is a star - hopefully he will not lose his way.
Kedar Jadhav is an asset.

The rest of the batsmen (Rayudu, Dinesh Karthik etc) are rubbish.

If you're playing Dinesh Karthik, kick out Dhoni.

Look at England's top 7.

Roy
Hales
Bairstow
Buttler
Morgan
Root
Moeen Ali

Of these the top 5 can easily get a 150+ SR in a game.
Root is no slouch either, and can rescue them if there's a collapse.
Moeen Ali also doesn't waste time "digging in".

England and New Zealand should be fighting it out in the final later this year.

The two best ODI sides in the world at the moment for English conditions.

Nah - NZ has its own issues. I see NZ, Aus and SA fighting it out for 4th right now... But obv the NZ Ind series will have a bearing of that changing. Pak, Ind and Eng seem far more settled in selection at the moment.

India can get stronger batting by bringing in Krunal for Jadeja. And then decide between Shami or H Pandya. And play Bumrah obviously in place of Ahmed will strengthen the bowling no end.

England also has:

8 Woakes
9 Willey/Archer
10 A Rashid
11 Plunkett...

They don't stop batting...

And I forgot Stokes.
He doesn't play ODIs anymore?

He's another 200+ SR batsman.

England are SO overflowing in talent right now that we might as well just hand over the World Cup to them instead of going through the motions of pretending there's a contest at all.

all australian supporters
i told yesterday Sydney was australias 100th win but i am sorry that was 1000th win by australia in International, which record is outstanding.aus played 19 test more than eng.

Aus
1000 win-593 Defeat-210 draw
-------
eng
774 win-676 Defeat-345 draw
--------
ind
711 win-615 Defeat-217 Draw
-----------
pak
702 win-572 Defeat-159 Draw
----------
Westindies
608 win-606 Defeat-175 Draw
-----------
note
i impressed pakistan who played 133 test less than india but their winning Ratio better than india.Although last few years they have limited option to play int'L cricket after USA declarded them terorist Nations.

over all they win good % matches with-in asia

Stokes is averaging over 50 in odi's for the past 2 years at about 100SR...

This is like 83/84 or 87/88 where the Windies were clearly the best team - but anything can still happen...
