Perth Scorchers 8-107 (Agar 32; Meredith 3-15, Short 2-17) lost to Hobart Hurricanes 4-110 (Doolan 41no, Short 34; Agar 2-19) by six wickets with 15 balls remaining.

Perth can't travel.
Hurricanes were impressive and now 5.00 favourites to win comp.

Bancroft looked nervous and typically nicked one for a 2 run total.

Adelaide Strikers 4 for 175 (Ingram 75, Carey 59, Sams 2-24) beat Sydney Thunder 6 for 155 (Ferguson 47, Siddle 3-20) by 20 runs
Peter Siddle's three-wicket haul, and half-centuries from Alex Carey and Colin Ingram gave Adelaide Strikers their second win of the Big Bash League 2018-19, as they defeated Sydney Thunder by 20 runs on New Year's Eve.

Any good performances by IPL prospects? After all they are playing BB as a “practice” for real matches aka IPL. ;)

Early season form has been patchy. Wade Short Siddle Carey have impressed but the imports have been better.Rashid Buttler in particular.

Joe Root has failed both in numbers and t20 technique.
