Lynn's a good batsman.
Keeps it simple, real simple, yet smashes a lot of 6's and scores swiftly.
Both are threats to the opposition, but Lynn has been crunching it for a long time in Straya.

So pleased for The Big Bear Cameron White. I have been saying he should be in our ODI side for several years as he continues to produce the goods every year in our domestic one day competition.

Closer yes. But Stokes is still a century making 10 over bowling giant hole for the EWCB to try and fill.
Meanwhile Aus have Stoinis and MMarsh

Morgan has cracked 80-odd in the warm up, with bairstow opening and Hales at number three interestingly. Wonder if that’s a new plan.

Is Root back to full health Boycs? Your boys did not have it all their own way against the CAX1 kids yesterday. Some encouraging performances by a handful of future stars in Daniel Fallins, Mack Harvey and keeper Harry Nielsen. Roy, Hales, Rashid and Morgan looked the goods..

My understanding now is that it was a bit of a heat exhaustion type thing.

Not gastro? The heat wouldn't have helped with gastro dehydration.

Heard media say gastro at first then they started saying heat. One way or another he was unwell I suppose it doesn’t matter massively. He’ll be better by now I’m sure.

I wonder if the sweeping personnel changes between England’s test and ODI teams will mean there’s little shell shock on the field today from the ashes defeat.

Yes. A different squad.. a different campaign.. Your boys will be out to avenge the Ashes hammering. Roy has been in decent BBL form.. will be a thorn in our side. Have Morgan and Hales been playing BBL?Boycs wrote:I wonder if the sweeping personnel changes between England’s test and ODI teams will mean there’s little shell shock on the field today from the ashes defeat.

I want to shut out this ODI series from my mind.
I don't want it to spoil the sweet taste of the Ashes success. :-)

Jason Roy has been a failure in the Big Bash but you never know in ODI's you have that bit more time.

I was being generous. Roy played 6 BBL games- runs 62 top score of 21. So he enters these ODIs in not very sparkling form. Starc got him going today with some gold plated rubbish.Boycs wrote:I thought on the baggy green thread you guys had said Roy hadn’t really done anything in the bash? Might have misread

England ticking over singles at the moment. Might wish for a couple of boundaries just to make sure that rate doesn’t sneak up on them.
But decent stuff so far.
Once Root gets to fifty Australia will feel more confident about getting him out

The Aussie commentators seem more confident in England than I am. Going well so far but one wicket brings two and suddenly it’s 160/4
And as I type this Roy is given out! Review!

Ooooo Roy slogs to long on and escapes with his wicket by only a couple of inches as finch stretches up to try and catch it. Close.

Congrats on record Roy.
Has Starc bowled worse in a ODI than he did yesterday? Cummins was not far behind.
Please Australia next time pick specialist limited overs bowlers and not our Test attack. The only one to not go the journey yesterday was one.. Andrew Tye.
Young Jhye Richardson must play in next game. Another Richardson, Kane (no relation) should be in this attack as one of this country's best ODI/T20 opening and death bowlers. Where is he, and also Ben Cutting CA?

Usman Khawaja? He came to Australia just out of nappies. Most of these blokes like Roy and Pietersen played all their junior and some of their senior cricket in the country of their birth.Yorkshire wrote:Katto wrote:didnt watch, but its getting tiresome England's best players not being English

Should have done my homework paddles. My point is so many of England's past players have learned their cricket in another country. Pietersen, Hick, Caddick, Malcolm, Robin Smith and Tony Grieg. No doubt there are plenty more. Their latest Keaton Jennings grew up in Joburg. There are also several Aussies..the latest two being Darren Pattinson and Sam Robson. In all there have been 66 foreign born players for England..
