RCB vs KKR IPL game this season.
Coulter Nile was beyond awesome in that game.
Until then, I didn't have an opinion on him - but he just blew me away (and the RCB top order too) with that performance.

Let me look for the scorecard.

are there contractual reasons with the BCCI and host broadcaster that prevents anyone from mentioning the fact we're still World Champions? :)

4-1

Positives for Australia
1. Fast bowling attack. Cummins was on fire, NCN was terrific, Richardson a good backup bowler.

2. Stoinis as the allrounder.

3. Finch. Was consistently good.

Question marks

1. Smith captaincy. Australian strategy all around the place.
2. Wade.

India positives

1. Pandya . Hammered the bowling West Indian style. Decent backup bowler but sprays it around a bit.

2. Sharma. Always thought he was mentally susceptible chasing but proved me wrong.

3. Bhuvaneshwar Kumar. Consistent and excellent with the new ball. Complements Bumrah who is a death bowler.

4. Chahal and Kuldeep. These guys may keep Ashwin and Jadeja out of the side.

Negatives

1. Middle order looks wobbly. Not tested. Pandey, Jadhav none of them certainties. Rahane a middle order batsman is made an opener.

2. Kohli. His batting has gone down clearly. Captaincy telling?

3. Yadav and Shami looked rusty in the only game they played.

No they don’t have any!! Legend Warne retired long time ago. That vacuum never got filled.

It’s misconception for a losing team that those who could not play is a better option to win over those who played.

I never said we have good spin bowlers, I just said we have better ones than Zampa.

There are no excuses here, we're looking at players who arent good enough going forward as internationals.

he bowls too many long hops and got his lengths and speeds wrong all series. Legspinners in ODIs need more control.

BCCI announced long time ago, RAHANE WILL OPEN IN ALL matches as Dhawan out
Ravi bhai responsible for all changes because other gets Chance as well.
Ash and Jadoo will do Little in Overseas test but i can predicts 3/0 of SL in 2017 as both ash and Jadoo ready to beat Lyon's 46 wickets record in 2017.Jadoo /Ash now 44 test wickets each in 2017 .

I can not see future for Chahal/Axar in test cricket

The other aspect is, if you dont have any good enough spinners, you're better selecting another quick.

OK, one more point. Thought Dhoni still deserves his place in the side.

Initially felt Dhoni should retire or be chucked out and replaced by Pant.

But Dhonis experience is invaluable.

I think Dan Christian better batsman but I know little about Behrendroff.so India left out Pant and Others from their last t20I team
Fast bowler TYe returned in place of Cummins.Henriquies might be handy but I remember his test début in India, too good at Delhi.

Dhawan and Karthik (second keeper) returned in the Indian team.

too fat

cant afford to carry slow fielders and non runners any more

Agree. By that logic, Nehra should also be out of the side. This is a retrograde step. Nehra was at his peak 14 years ago. I am not sure he can bend or dive. Can't bat, is a brainless bowler at the death.

some irony in the fact Shastri is implementing these measures considering his own physical condition these days :)

What is the logic behind selecting 38 year 'young' Ashish Nehra? He is bowling coach or what? Ridiculous.

Because BCCI selected Both Iyer and Pant captain for India A vs NZ A for 5 ODI so naturally all test prospect plus bowlers busy but NEHRA JI too good for t20.
NZ batted 27 overs for their 26 (WR in Tests) all out in 1955

Pretty Sure Rohit Sharma hit double hundreds against Aust and Sri Lanka in ODI format.

Don't you know he hammered 16 sixes vs Australia in his 209 at Bangalore?

you guys missed the point.

Australia is a minnow team now that EVEN rohit sharma can make big score against them, the ultimate insult.

I disagree.
Ashwin is better off not being burnt out and risking injury, playing Tests AND limited-overs.
Chahal & Kuldeep Yadav are doing a terrific job, why bring Ashwin back into the ODI side?
Let him be fresh for Tests, and do what it takes to continue to be a potent weapon in Test cricket.
I was happy to learn he's playing a bit of county cricket this season - will do him good.

We need to keep in mind that Ashwin's value is as an all-rounder in Tests, which makes even more demands on his body.
Let him focus on delivering with bat and ball in every Test, leaving limited-overs aside.

It's important of course to make sure he is rewarded well enough even if he plays only Test cricket.
Same logic as with Pujara.
