As for India, I do feel close to Hyderabad in India, especially the Old City. It's a bit dirty but otherwise wonderful.
It has wonderful monuments, many from the Nizam's time.
My favourite place happens to be the Salar Jung musuem.
It is not as charming now as it was 37 years ago (when I first visited it) - but still lovely to see those artefacts.
There used to be many more in 1981 - when I visited in 1985 again, I saw many had disappeared (it was in the news that many got stolen).
More recently there has been a renovation/modernisation effort that has taken away a bit of the charm.

Yes, what you say is true. Generally nice and friendly people. The city needs to improve in civic amenities - many parts are still quite dirty - but overall I love the city.

That is why I support Sunrisers. And used to support Deccan earlier. :-)

I last visited in 2014 or 2015, can't remember.
Are you saying that it's become much cleaner now?
Some parts were always clean (like Raj Bhavan road area) - will be happy to see the rest of the city also clean.

I stayed in Hyderabad (Secunderabad actually) from 1996 till 1999. So that was 20 years ago. I am sure the place must have improved (and become much more populous) during these two decades.

I remember eating Hyderabadi Biryani almost everyday in Hyderabad when I lived there alone. That was during the first phase of my stay (1992-1993).
