Argentine defence is very weak with Heinze, Gutirez and Demicelis.

They will lose to the stronger teams.

I will be supporting USA as they are the underdogs.
Provided they start calling it football and not soccer.
How can you call a game football when the ball is in your hands most of the time?

Yes, their defence is weak. No doubt about it.
Very much like Holland in that respect.

Yes, Korea won (second favorite side, go Hyundai go Korea!).

Now, go USA! Though I don't think they'll win.

Innings defeat for USA.

I want England to win the group games very easily so that they get totally hyped up.

Already one goal.

Gerrard does for England what he has stopped doing for Liverpool.

Heskey?

I am out of touch at the moment but is Heskey in this squad?

Don't they have an age limit for participation in this World Cup?

I guess not - I saw Veron in the other game.

You can't use "dependable" and "Ganguly" in the same sentence.
Am going to report this abuse to Shourey.

Shourey bhai, where are you? Ganguly has been mentioned. :-)

1-1.
I really did not want this.

I want England to thrash USA, though I am supporting USA overall.
With joke teams like Algeria and Slovenia in the group, England are going to qualify anyway.
They might as well thrash all these teams, get over-confident/hyped up and crash out at a later stage.

Though, I don't see even that happening. This is such a complete England side - not one weakness.
Even Beckham isn't playing, so they have 11 contributing players this time.

The USA players file a suit against FIFA for the following :
1) FIFA is not an "equal opportunity employer". Why is Tim Howard (goalie) allowed to hold the ball in both hands and the other players not?
2) The players are required to play for more than 5 minutes without a commercial break
3) They don't have enough markers/lines on the field so they have no clue how much ground they need to cover.
4) Without all their protective gear, they feel naked on the field.
5) Nobody told them it would be cold in South Africa. They were told the matches were in June.

So far the WC matches looks boring.. I think Modi could've made a huge difference. We could've Strategic Time-outs, DLF Maximum Goals, Citi Moments Of Success, MFR Blimp, Cheergirls and last but not least, after match parties. FIFA awards night with performances by Gayrukh and his dance troop of UV, Bhajji, Ishant and Yusuf "IPL" Pathan..

Well, this goalkeeper made it a bit interesting.

But I was also thinking about the same thing.
Modi would have made a difference.

Instead of playing for 90 min, he would have had a T20 version of it. The match would finish in 30 minutes.
First 5 minutes would be team-1 powerplay.
In this period, team-2 would be allowed to play with only 8 players.

Next 5 minutes would be other way round.

After that there would be another (mutually-agreed) powerplay for 5 minutes where both teams would play with 8 players only.

The referee would be dressed only in leaves.

England is going to go through to the next round anyway.
So this could actually be a masterstroke by the coach.
To play his goalie this early in the tournament to check him out.

Now, in the business end of the tournament, Green is not going to be seen on the field.

So what are the English newspaper headlines saying today?

I really cannot understand why people are talking about England losing.
We all know that England usually start like this. And then they grow in a tournament.
They are in such a weak group that they could play one-legged against Algeria and Slovenia and still win.

Like I said Hart should be in goal.

Pathetic.

Lets hope we go out before the knock outs so we can start being a normal Country again. The hype is over the top and frankly makes me not want to watch them at all.

Heskey played well.

Gerrard did little once he knew he had contributed. Saving it for teams he actually wants to play for (Liverpool etc).
