Generally if we didn't invent something we simply make it better.

I'm not a big basketball fan, but I'll root for the home town Wizards. I like OKC too, I think Durant is a like able guy.

It'll be an interesting year with all the movement we've seen in the off season.

Hahah! Beer I'm not qualified to comment on, but pizza, I don't know, I really like our pizza.

Also, should Canada really get the credit for basketball?

Canada to US is like NZ is to Australia. The big brother always stealing the little brothers stuff and claiming it as their own!

Yeah should be an interesting season. Can't believe Lebron made himself another super team.

But wasn't the guy in America when he invented basketball? Being in America, the real land of opportunity, allowed him to do so.

Synergy, I don't understand how the Cleveland fans have "forgiven" LeBron since they were so angry about him leaving in the first place. I guess if he wins some championships all will be forgotten.

Lol yeah. Image

Though if I was a Cleveland fan I would have forgiven him too. Hard to pass up on the best player in the world.

EDIT: Just realised, isn't your name James Super? Replaced with a better pic  .

Yes, I am the original King James. Ok, maybe not original, but I am a few years older than LeBron.

This thread, if you keep it active will motivate me to follow the season a bit more.

He lost respect the moment he joined Cleveland. Even NFL players mock Browns at the expense of Lebron James.

Watch out for the Wizards! Aiming for another 8th place finish to squeak into the playoffs.

Some of the games are on ESPN here. Most of the playoff games are on TV. I am too cheap to fork out money for a league pass. I only really get to watch it live in the weekend anyway. Most of the other days the games are on while at work, so just keep an eye on box score if I am really interested.

Lol not exactly hard to get 8th seed in the East! Wizards might do better than that.

Kiwis love their NBA.. Jesse Ryder is a huge NBA fan and so is Guptill and some other guys.

Well look no further than the best team in the East, the Raptors. It is the year of the Dinos, we are making the finals!

I like the Raptors. Probably the most underrated team in NBA.

By the way why isn't Canada better in International bball? They've got a few good nba players but are ranked below us!

Should get better with the likes Wiggins, Olynyk, Nik Stauskas, and Tristan Thompson coming through.

Synergy, Canada isn't good at anything, that's why.

This thread might actually spur me in to going up the street to watch the Wizards. I can get some seats for $30 each that are center court (though at the top.) Last time I was there was for Cirque du Soleil. Before that some rap concerts. Before that, and most fun of all, was some wrestling (WCW and WWE) that I got to watch from the Budweiser box, because my mom got free tickets.

Canada basketball has been a disaster in the last decade. Nash stopped playing for us which was a huge blow and the overall talent was mediocre at best. Not to mention the dysfunctional management who had no idea what they are doing.

The future looks bright now. These are the kids who grew up watching Vince Carter do his thing in Toronto. There is a lot more to come. Won't be surprised if Canada cracks the top 5 in the next couple of years.

You a big wrestling fan? I was from late 80s to mid 2000s. Huge fan. Maybe we should start a wrestling thread

Haha. But Canada is better than you guys in Cricket and Rugby the two sports that matter ;) .

That's a really good price considering that Wizards are a playoffs contender. But I guess that varies depending the opposition is? Man I need to plan a trip to US sometime soon. So many things I want to do.

What do you think about Kobe throwing bricks these days..lol. He is my all time fav. And it hurts to see him struggle. Lethal combination of age and recent injuries.

Lakers will have a lot of money next year freed up, so I am expecting them to make some bold moves. NBA aint fun without a good Lakers team.

So how did you become a basketball fan?and your fav. Team and players.

scud, when I was younger WWE was like a religion. I don't think I've watched more than 5 minutes of wrestling in the last 10-12 years.

My mom is a huge Lakers fan. I was born in LA and they lived there for 8-10 years. That was when Magic and company were there.

Lakers are like Yankees of NBA. You either love them or love to hate them.

WWE was way ahead of cricket for me as a kid/teen even until my early 20s. Did you switch to WCW during their glory years? I did :p. It was more fun than WWE by a long shot. I loved Eric Bischoff, a real asshole. But nothing was better than WWE from late 90s to early 2000s. I never liked babyfaces, I always cheered for the heels. Way more fun than the good guys. Wrestling is shit today, no wonder Vince is losing money like a crazy.

I used to pretty casually follow the Spurs for ages but I only really got into NBA last year when Steven Adams joined OKC. Started following games a lot more after that.

Honestly if OKC can't come out of this hole, I would love it if Raptors ring this season. Unfortunately for the Raptors I don't think they've got that superstar to take them all the way.

Oldest trick in the book - go see a scalper after the puck drop. You'll get good seats for half the price. If you want even better price, wait till the end of first period. I am sure you are a scalping pro and know all these tricks.

He is a perfect no.2. Not a franchise player but a darn good no.2. There are times when he tries to do too much and as a result throws bricks ala kobe.

And a few hours later, they lost by 15 to the Cavs. Lol. Epic jinx.

I think he gets a lot of unfair criticism for his shooting tbh. He does take some bad shots at times but he is so bloody explosive and he can basically lift everyone around him.

I reckon lot of teams would love to have him as their main player.

The difference in strength between West and East is so bad atm. There are 6 teams in the West who are currently on track for 60 wins. There is 1 in the East.

West is always the deeper conf. East is a big joke.

Raptors, Hawks and Wizards make the top 3 in the East. Was not expecting that. Then again Warriors, Portland and Memphis make the top in the West, was not expecting that either.

Been a weird season so far.

Raptors lose in OT in Portland, arguably the most hostile arena for the visiting teams. Raptors are legit.
