MLB season 2014!

Postby scud » Thu Apr 03, 2014 8:45 am

Super's Nats look great this year and should win the N.L east. GS's Orioles are in a tough division with my Blue Jays. The toughest division in baseball by a country mile.

2-0!

I wouldn't get too hyped up on winning the division. The Braves are always very good. The Marlins, Mets and Phillies on the other hand. I don't pay much attention in the off season so I don't know which other teams in the division have strengthened themselves.

We might go to opening day tomorrow if the weather is nice, but it looks like rain.

Won the first match but lost the second one. Playing world champions 1-1 is good enough for my Os.

Nats won today when we went to the game. Nice afternoon for baseball and a tight 2-1 game where Raph Soriano tried to lose it in the bottom of the ninth by allowing two guys on base. Plus I got a free shirt.

6 down and 156 to go.

I like good pitching duals. I am waiting for the dome to open, don't like it when the dome is closed. 3-4 so far. Is Soriano mute? Havent seen him talk, ever.lol

This is one game I have never understood. I mean the rules and that is why I cannot watch it at all. I was once given yanks vs red sox iicks two of them to go watch at a stadium ajd it was for a game where a girl would strip for you if you gave her a tick. I just tantu it away to a coworker. My bil tried to explain the game and expected to rope me: n so he was allowd to watch I just asked hik to bugger off and not screw with my regular tv watching schedule for the sake of looking fashionable.. not for me. I infact watch footie only if nothing is on and superbowl for the ads and half time show. Cricket badminton tennis and biliards for me thank you. No I don't like tennis unless it is womens and some good looking chicks lke anna konikova or sania mirza is playing and that to oogle at em. Atheletics swimming gymnastics and golf boxing archery karate and its ilk wrestlng vollyball also tolerable..he ll even broomstick skills a la curl is ok by me. No f1 but motorcycle race ok skiing scate boards ok.

The Marlins are in town which is usually a good thing but they're off to a solid 5-2 start. If the Nats drop below 500 to them the whole season could be over! Hah.

Os at 2-4. It's going to be a very long season. Sigh! Looking forward to see them ditch Yankees at their home.

Jays and Nats first in A.L east and N.L east respectively. But it's too early. I might not get a chance to say Jays are no.1 in their div. after today, so lemme enjoy it.

Jayson Werth (aka Werthless, which I'll always call him after his first season in DC was terrible) put a grand salami on the board last night in the bottom of the 8th to grab a 3 run lead. Then Soriano almost lost it for them allowing two guys on base. Do you see a theme here?

First the Nats were down 5-0 in the second, fought back to 5-5, then the Marlins were up 7-6 going into the 8th and the Nats eventually win 10-7.

Watch a baseball game like that one and you can't really understand why people think baseball is boring.

Nats with grand slams in back to back games. Both in the bottom of the 8th. This time we were already ahead so it didn't matter, but, it's always a good feeling.

Now on the road at the Braves and Marlins. Could be tough in Atlanta and we need to stay ahead of them early.

An American is behind the commercial success of the Big Bash. Where's Katto when you need him?

Meanwhile, the Nats continue to struggle against Ankur's Braves.

He was in the IPL, a bit before your time admittedly.

Infact so long ago was it that the franchise he played for doesnt even exist any more, shame, all that history lost.

Its nice to get all nostalgic for t20.

Hah.

You guys seen this crappy review setup in use? The worst part? There is no time cut off so whenever there is a 50/50 play the manager goes out to argue with the umpire while waiting for a signal to review it or not based on other members of the staff watching the replay. Ridiculous.

Nats vs Braves 1-5
Nats vs anyone else 7-0

You lost out.. Now that you are married you are doomed just like me...

Had an enjoyable first 3.5 innings tonight at the ballpark before the rain just kept coming down and put the game into a delay. They put up the Wizards playoff game so we stayed and watched that on the big screen and then walked home in the rain. I really really really hope they postpone the game so that I can use tonight's tickets for another game. Also bought more tickets for future games.

Everyone is bunched up in the NL East still and was hoping the Nats could get a few wins before we have to go back on the road again later this week.

Those bastards finished the game after a 3 hour and 17 minute rain delay. I was happily asleep of course, but damn.

Atlanta lost and that Nats are back in first! Not that it matters much this early in the season, especially when the Nats are 18-14 and the last place Phillies are 15-15.

2012, I was in malvern PA and phillis were sucking harder than a vaccum cleaner. And the blokes there would be cheering shouting and then end of the game sulking.. The sales of beers would be sky high during the game and following the game it would be folks drinking whisky do drown their sorrow. It was a hillarious sight. These guys were bright yet when it came to phillis, their brains would be stuck at their buttocks.. they would NEVER learn and ALWAYS hope their team would WIN. Sort of in a time capsule.

Oh man on man.

Huh. When I went to an orioles game I cannot see any thing due to fog. No, not due to bad weather. It's the beer fog. Every damn person is drinking beer it made a thick fog. The air is filled with beer. Though I did not drink any alcohol I got drunk by end of game! It's no place to take kids to see a ball game with family anymore !!!

Right now I'm up late watching the Nats and Reds as the game goes into the 15th inning. The Reds defense have saved the game twice in extras already with diving catches. Crazy!

As for beer fog...??? Isn't that just always the people in Baltimore act like there is a beer fog around? Too much crab?

MLB season 2014!

Postby Going South » Sat Jun 07, 2014 5:17 pm

No way I take kids on beer clouds. Ofcourse with friends. One guy got 4 free. Corporate tickets on prime seats with free parking. Got great view. Friend caught a ball. Unlike cricket if you catch ball you can keep it and take home. They recently introduced 3rd umpire video confirmation on appeals but still got 2 decisions wrong. Cricket is waaaaay better on camera angles

The stupid one official angle is what is stupid. Certainly cricket has the major advantage here. What's Manny Machado's problem? Acted a bit like Bhajji!

I was at Nats Park today to give blood (for two free tickets and a shirt.) they also give a tour.

hehehe. he acts like a real prima donna. would walk right into BCCI dressing room and fit right in. As a matter of fact i fully expected a great fight when both teams walked quickly in the middle of ground to face each & fight. alas. they backed out. This would never happen in cricket.

After going to two Nats games in a row where they lost, they finally won for us today (barely.) Leading the National League East and the supposedly have "one of the easiest" second half schedules. Problem is we still have to play the Braves a bunch more. The NL looks like it'll come down to the final week of baseball which I guess is exciting for fans.

How can the no.1 ranked team play the other no.1 ranked team - that makes no sense.

I understand you have a eastern and a western conference - or a red and a blue / north and south, animals / inuits - what ever it is - but how can teams in different leagues play each other - do all the teams in the same league play different teams and then they compare points.

Why so complicated?

Well first off explain the game rbi what is that. Is it even a valid English phrase.. I cannot watch baseball even if a gun was put to my head. It is silly catch practice with a round bat.
